I love living in South Eastern Michigan
Michigan allows CHLs. However, their colleges and schools are off limits to concealed carry or firearm carry except by those "officially" authorized.
In other words, the shooting galleries are unprotected except for a few rent-a-cops and threatening "No Guns Allowed" signs.
I’m not sure what a “CHL” is, but we do have Concealed Pistol Licenses here in Michigan.

WXYZ-TV reports there are two fatalities in the Dearborn, Michigan campus shooting. A man killed his girlfriend before taking his own life.
Students for Concealed Carry on Campus is working to change defense-free zones. In fact, I was just preparing to do an interview with a station in Michigan when I got this news.
The only states without concealed carry permits are Illinois and Wisconsin (and DC).
Now, some states may be tougher than others to get, but that argument is dangerous (such as - look at Pittsburgh’s cop shooting).
Michigan has “Shall Issue” CCW.
Every city/county in the state has to issue CCW licenses to any non felon that wants one, and has taken the required CCW class.
Michigan has very good gun laws.
There is no license required for open carry, except you can’t open carry in an auto without a CCW permit.

Most recent update. A 28 year old guy killed a 20 year old woman. Weapon was a shotgun. There was an argument beforehand.

When I heard the news this afternoon, my first guess is that it was someone from Detroit. Wonder if the shooter has a criminal record. There is an Antoine Powell listed in OTIS who is about the right age. The girl was from Ecorse and that’s a pretty dark suburb.
