A group of young men severely beat a Kent man late Tuesday at the Federal Way Transit Center after he told one of them to lower his voice, police said Wednesday.
The Kent man, 32, was waiting for a bus about 11 p.m. when he asked a loud youth to quiet down, police said. In response, several males in their teens or early 20s walked up to the man and one hit him in the face.
The two began to fight and others in the group joined in. After the Kent man was knocked to the ground, the attackers ran away and police were unable to find them.
Police said the man suffered a broken jaw and broken facial bones and lost several teeth. He was being treated Wednesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Police said they were following leads and reviewing security video of the incident.
The young man who threw the first punch was described as black and about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with black, braided hair. He wore long, dark shorts, a white T-shirt, dark shoes and a blue or black baseball cap.
The second attacker was described as black and 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10. He wore long, dark shorts, a black T-shirt with white lettering, dark shoes and a black baseball cap with a yellow bill.
This was the third recent violent incident at the center at South 317th Street and 23rd Avenue South.
In January 2008, Darrel Miller, 38, was shot and killed while walking across a bus lane. In September 2008, Muse Sugulle, 30, was stabbed on a King County Metro Transit bus while it was leaving the station.

Not defending the action of the thugs, but I have to question the victim’s judgment here. The teens and young men were talking loudly? Oh my.
There are no pretty words to describe what I feel inside when I hear these stories. I long for the time when vermin were afraid to come out of the woodwork, and I’m sick at heart to know how many now have to cringe in fear of them. As far as I’m concerned, every “gang tat” in the country would look better with a bullet hole.

I live 1.5 miles from downtown. I don't go there. Seattle is deteriorating both in infrastructure and citizen responsibility at a rapid rate. Normal civility and consideration for the other guy have gone by the boards - it's meme liberalism run amok.

As soon as I read the headline I knew the victim was white and the attackers were black. Well, actually I thought it was some Muslims in London but as soon as I saw it was in Seattle I knew.
