Obama skips church – 11 times (First family has no place of worship for Easter Sunday)
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | April 08, 2009 | Chelsea Schilling

Despite his vow to find a new church after disassociating himself with Rev. Jeremiah Wright's fiery rhetoric, President Obama reportedly has not attended a single church service since he took office.

"We probably won't make any firm decision on this until January, when we know what our lives our going to be like," Obama told reporters in May when he announced his split with Trinity United, his church of 20 years.

President George W. Bush had attended numerous services at St. John's Episcopal Church by his third month in office. His father attended the same church on Inauguration Day.

President Bill Clinton also attended church services within weeks of becoming president. While President Jimmy Carter taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Washington, President Ronald Reagan didn't attend because he said security requirements were too burdensome for his congregation.

However, after 11 Sundays in office, Obama still hasn't found a church – even with Easter just four days away.

He is a Muslim.

He could justify being in a “church” whose focus was hate.

But he cannot be in one whose focus is Christ.

Well, nothing can match the great sermons of Jeremiah Wright. Sundays for the Obamas aren’t what they used to be.

He was not religious at all until someone told him he could improve his Chicago electoral chances by affiliating with a black church. It was always just a means to an end, and he has now reached the end, at least for now. I’m sure he thinks church would be another punishment for his daughters.

Not a big deal - he didn't do such a good job picking a church last time and he's a functional atheist anyway.

Reagan didn't attend, either.

First of all, he’s muslim and I’m sure rooms have been built for prayer rooms facing Mecca. And the dogs will be there next week. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Obama was asking the King of Sauda Arabia for his advice on what dog he should get and not offend Islam. I would make a much better press secretary for these lieing weasels. May not have all the words spelled writh.

Actually his Chicago Hate-"Church" was the avenue that laundered the money to hire him as a community organizer. He decided that since they were paying his freight he probably ought to make the effort to show up once in awhile.

Being VERY charitable I could possibly say that he is simply being a lazy Christian right now.

Unfortunately this is also about the worst time he could choose to be a lazy Christian. All the pressure, all the learning, all the worry, the whirlwind of travel to places that matter to meet people that matter in countries that matter. WORLD WORLD WORLD DEVIL DEVIL DEVIL and yes, FLESH FLESH FLESH.

Perhaps had he and Michelle been more diligent about always setting aside that Sunday time, we might not be seeing things like his (involuntary?) bow to the Saudi King, or her hug of the Queen like it was her mama. Or his gaffe about “Moderate Muslims” in Turkey (they didn’t think of their practice, moderate as it may seem to us, as that way to themselves). Wanting so hard to make friends with former Muslim enemies, he crudely blew off the attorney of a Gitmo prisoner who had had charges dropped and significant evidence of true abuse attested by British physicians. (The attorney is now in danger of going to prison based on charges of some bureaucracy that Obama would probably hate, for telling Obama that they had forbade him to tell his client’s story!)

I don’t believe George W. Bush backed off of church during the analogous time during his tenure.

I always thought it would be a good idea to have a chapel either within the White House or, on the grounds. Nothing fancy but large enough for the President to worship with his friends and family. Would also be a good place to pray for guidance during a national crisis. And, tell me there wouldnt be a priest or minister who wouldnt volunteer for the opportunity.

Not that Bambi would use it but - it would certainly make news if it wasnt being used during a Presidency.

The faint glimmer I saw, was his seeming personal testimony when he was at Saddleback along with McCain during the debates. It was pretty orthodox as evangelical testimonies go. It claimed the right savior, the right relationship, the right motive, and the right goal. Could there be a pony somewhere under all that external manure?

That is why I wanted to hold back on a verdict, even with his confusions about Islam (the way he had lived as a young child). But at the best he has become quite lazy and the devil is bumping him around virtually at will.

“You mean your Christian faith.”

“Um, yes, my Chistian faith....”

Islam is a tough background to completely shake off, as one of my church missionaries who has specialized in that demographic for 40 years can attest. Islam is worked into the student day in and day out, from waking to bedtime. Yet Obama ultimately walked away in favor of evangelical Christian beliefs, or at least thought he had. This gaffe could represent the “old man” (the flesh) which had become so accustomed to identifying with Islam.

And your inner cynic could be correct.

I am of the camp that says that true faith, once initiated in a formerly unsaved man, will never totally die. Something will always show which is prompted by the Holy Spirit rather than by the other guys.

If that statement was something he thought OK, I will mouth because the electorate will eat it up, but it’s all the same to me, Chrislam, Istianity, whatever, well he’s a thoroughgoing phoney. Unless God later grabs him by the scruff of the neck and shakes him real hard in view of the flames of hell, and takes care of the problem. I prayed a lot for Bill Clinton that way, nothing much seemed to happen, but I have a clear conscience that I did what I ought to.

LOL well no, he doesn't have one!

It won't be announced, and will be a surprise to everyone.

He's too humble to announce before hand where he is going to church.

He will just be going to privately pray and worship God.

I hate myself for posting that...

Obama, and I must add, his children, have not attented Church since his inauguration.

I guess that means his daughters are not being raised as Christians. They go to a Quaker “progressive” private school, and are not enrolled in Sunday school.

That really sets an example!
