There are people out there who saw through all the B.S. even at the height of the hysteria in the 1990s.

I didn't. I picked up on the uselessness and hypocrisy of the UN, and had plenty to say about the Dutch peacekeepers. But there was more to the story, and I didn't understand that for a long time.

Don't feel too bad. A lot of people didn't pick up on it at the time. It's the ones who KNEW it was a pack of lies and maintained its "veracity" anyway in order to perpetuate their agenda are the ones who should be ashamed. That's the least of what their punishment should be. But I don't think these people have a conscience to begin with despite all their "humanitarian" posturing. They demonized an entire group of people and a nation whom they should have SUPPORTED because the Serbs were on the front lines waging the battle against the encroachment of Jihad into Europe.

Stupid, stupid people actually sabotaged the Serbian efforts and now are dealing with the consequences of their stupidity and may very well end up dealing with it for many years to come.
