I have always said that true conservatives (with the ability to think for themselves) are not afraid of nor do they think that Savage is crazy. The rest, well....

I think you can draw a clear line between conservatives who listen to Savage, and conservatives who listen to Levin. People can draw their own conclusions.

I haven’t listened to Savage probably in 3 years or so. But the last time I did hear him on the radio, he oscillated between angry, and clinically depressed in the space of a few seconds.

Then he went into how he loved his little dog (Teddy?). It was quite surreal.

I listen to both. Where's the line?

I hope he doesn’t write in all caps, like he speaks.

Actually, I’ll bet his written pieces are very good. The man can think. He just doesn’t communicate verbally all that well.

Just give a closer listen to Levin when he “goes off” on Savage.

Makes for great radio. Definitely part of the appeal of Savage’s show. No, I’m not being sarcastic.

Our local morning 9-12 radio guy Tom Marr (Baltimore - WCBM) is subbing for Mark right now. He mentioned Mike would be PO’d about “Liberty and Tryanny” being the #1 book. Tom and Mark are friends, neither seems to think much of Mike.

Listened to Mike las night, he really had a great assessment of BO as a schizo, an abandoned child, and I just can’t remember the rest of the psycho stuff he diagnosed.

As usual you never know when he’s going to rant about something important, talk about dinner or his dog.

They can help each other a lot, but I can recall Mike calling Farah’s site “world NUT daily”, and so on. It surprised the heck out of me, because at the time I loved both entities, and WND had run several great articles that had the effect of boosting the popularity of Mike’s show, although actually he doesn’t need much help in that department...

Mike is a puzzle; sometimes he lifts others up to the heavens, only to later smash them into the ground —sometimes on a completely random basis.

Mike heaps onto others the pain he suffered at the hands of his father and Berkeley professors.

When Janet was board-opping for him, Mike would sometimes verbally beat her up, too (now she works with Russ, his son). He was good at that, and he was truly vicious.

Nothing would be more inspirational than if Mike were to somehow return his own pain with generosity & mercy —really sorry if that sounds like liberal mush.

Yeah, yeah, I’m a nothing, and how many best-sellers have I written —I’ve heard it a billion times...

.......sigh. Whatever.

You can support him all you want but the simple fact of the matter is, HE embodies all the worst traits that the left tries to paint Rush with.

I personally, can't stand listening to either of them but Rush keeps his facts straight and parses his words either with context or statements.

Savage, on the other hand, makes points that I don't want to drive a truck through, but can. I'd love to support him but he's simply not a clear thinker. Hell, I'm a conservative and if I'm sitting there thinking, "Dude....bad point" or "That not how to argue that situation....especially if you're yelling....because then you look twice as ignorant" then he's doing a bad job.

RE: "They can help each other a lot, but I can recall Mike calling Farah’s site 'world NUT daily' . . . ."

Joe Farah has been a frequent guest on KSFO (San Francisco) for years. KSFO was Savage's original station (after a few fill-ins at KGO, the sister station).

Years ago Savage was having one of his "savage Farah" moments. Why? Because WND had used a term which Savage claimed originated with him and WND did not credit him.

Farah was a guest on the KSFO morning show. He asked the morning hosts what was going on with his friend Mike Savage. Neither host cared to comment.

Savage was not a "team player" and frequently criticized his fellow KSFO personalities -- but without the childish name-calling. None of the KSFO personalities responded on-air that I remember -- except maybe Jim Eason may have mentioned a dispute he was having with Savage.
