BOSTON — For Ethan St. Pierre, allowing someone who is biologically female — but self-identifies as male — to use the men's bathroom is a no-brainer.
"Look at me," said St. Pierre, who was born a woman but is now a transgender man with a beard and short hair.
"I don't want to get hurt by some woman who thinks I'm in the ladies room for the wrong reasons. I mean, clearly I don't belong there."
St. Pierre, of Haverhill, was one of hundreds of advocates at a Tuesday lobby, supporting a bill that would add "gender identity and expression" to Massachusetts's discrimination and hate crimes laws. Having this legislation would have protected St. Pierre from being fired in 2003 from his job as a security supervisor because he became a man, he said.
But opponents of the measure have deemed it "a bathroom bill," saying it would lead to a breakdown in privacy and public safety in rest rooms, locker rooms, showers and other single-sex facilities.

No, unfortunately, they are everywhere....I worked at a University wherein a man had the operation to become a ‘female’ and demanded to use the ‘ladies bathroom’ Only thing was that the real ladies refused to use the same one he/she did. Ultimately that bathroom became the defacto oddball’s bathroom. Years later, this frustrated he/she became an outward ‘he’ again (maybe reconstructive done too - don’t know). All I know is that a few months ago I saw ‘now him’ walking around the halls with his new “Russian” wife... As an aside, it goes to show you this country must not be as bad as our foreign-born failed President thinks it is if foreigners are willing to accept relationships like this.
Can I go back to high school and claim I was transgendered so I could use the showers with the girls volleyball team?

Ugh he can’t just use the men’s room by being quiet, courteous and efficient. What’s the big deal with “him” using a stall. We don’t need legislation for this type of crap!

how about if a known sex offender decides to self-identify as the other sex to await prey in the privacy of the rest room?

Forget the screaming about bathrooms and gender issues-—they should start making public restrooms for fat people. Sometimes I have problems getting my semi-fat a$$ into some of those stalls.
