OSLO/BONN (Reuters) – Global warming is likely to overshoot a 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 F) rise seen by the European Union and many developing nations as a trigger for "dangerous" change, a Reuters poll of scientists showed on Tuesday.
Nine of 11 experts, who were among authors of the final summary by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007 (IPCC), also said the evidence that mankind was to blame for climate change had grown stronger in the past two years.
Giving personal views of recent research, most projected on average a faster melt of summer ice in the Arctic and a quicker rise in sea levels than estimated in the 2007 report, the most authoritative overview to date drawing on work by 2,500 experts.
"A lot of the impacts we're seeing are running ahead of our expectations," said William Hare of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
Ten of 11 experts said it was at best "unlikely" -- or less than a one-third chance -- that the world would manage to limit warming to a 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 Fahrenheit) rise above pre-industrial levels.
"Scientifically it can be done. But it's unlikely given the level of political will," said Salemeel Huq at the International Institute for Environment and Development in London.

The IPCC said in 2007 that it was at least 90 percent certain that human activities, led by burning fossil fuels, were the main cause of warming in the past 50 years. Nine reckoned that evidence was stronger, two said it was unchanged.

These “scientists” should come out to Wisconsin, April 7th and the temperature hasn’t reached 40 degrees yet.

Here’s the real problem; the more we tend our garden, the weedier it gets:

You will note that the IPCC draws off the last warm period peak, and tries to extrapolate an increasing trend from there. However an intelligent reading of the chart shows there is nothing out of the ordinary from the little ice age, in the 1700s, and there is no real change since the 1940s when CO2 generation by man went way up. It's been pretty much a steady warming of 0.50C per century since the little ice age melted. More here:

If the cooling trend continues they will jump the fence and never acknowledge any discrepancy. “Global Cooling is the Problem. Global Cooling Has Always Been The Problem.”
I want these experts to tell me why there are snow flurries and freezing temperatures in the Deep South (Georgia) in April? What part of global warming is this?

Curious, in Reuters world, science is dictated by polls, and not facts. They would fit right in pillorying Galileo. Of course, he was attacked by men of “faith”, too.

When I was kid living in Indiana, we had a spring. We don’t anymore. We have 3 months we can count on warm weather. Thats it.
I am sick of the lies these people peddle. We have no use bothering with tulips and daffodils anymore. The minute they come up out of the ground, they die. I miss spring.

It was 68 degrees here on Sunday. Today, I had to scrape snow off my car windows.
Lucky you! 11 night before last; 27 last night.
2” shy of DOUBLE ‘normal seasonal” snowfall.
Three weekends, three spring blizzards in a row...and I don't mean at DQ.
High temps running 20-30 lower than ‘seasonal normal’.
ONE snowdrop managed to open, before getting buried by 6-8” of snow; haven't seen it since.
It is a sad sight to see a gobbler doing a spring display dance belly deep in snow.
Yes; we let the snakes among us live...then wonder why we're snake bit.
For the first time in 20 years during the month of April, I may have to turn the heat on tonight here in Orlando.
