... people who have never done radio, like Mario Cuomo and Jim Hightower...

This woman lives in fairyland. Hightower was doing radio damn near as long as Rush. But only in short blurbs. Who wants to listen to any more of his blather?

“Comedians tend to be truth-tellers,” says Miller. “For a time now, we just seem to have the facts on our side. We’re at a point where all the good comedy targets are on the right.”

Not any more. The leftists own the joint now. Let these people delude themselves with their 'truth'. The only way they get on the air is to pay for time up front, like an infomercial that runs overnight on some 500 watt UHF station. Even their own sympathizers won't listen to their material. Boring. Stupid and dry, amateurish, crude and mean. And that's their first string. That's why they will be stuck renting time on low power, directional class D stations. If they're lucky. Rush has the lock on 50KW clear-channel blowtorches, because he's earned an audience. And they can't stand it.

Have one of the 100 Liberal outlets hire you.

Obama 1260 was taken off the air?

You have 24/7 newspapers, cable, network, TV and movies humping Lefty crap...

The Left works hardest in their goals of “not working”.

If you deconstruct Liberalism, it begins and ends with denial of human nature and a pompus air of peopel who “know better” than you.

Being preached to by hypocrites...no thanks.

“You just cannot argue anymore it’s because liberal radio can’t compete.”

Well, if the commies say so then it must be so, right?

Darn, I thought for sure it was the markets.

But the markets are evil and must be destroyed—it’s the Democrat way!

"it’s failed in markets like Boston"

I've often wondered if the reason behind the constant reelection of nutbag Lefties, like Kennedy, Kerry, etc., in Massachusetts, was due to massive vote fraud, as opposed to the state's residents simply being Bolsheviks. Your comment makes me even more suspicious.

Yep. Conservatives are prone to saying that the MSM put Obama in the White House, but that is incorrect. Vote fraud put him there, technically, and vote fraud is what puts many, if not most liberal Democrats in office. Does anyone seriously believe that Al Franken, if he "wins," will have been put there by honestly counted votes? The MSM indirectly puts these guys in office and keeps them there because it creates such a convincing illusion to Americans and the world that Obama and his fellow leftists are popular, so conservatives and Republicans who like to think they're pragmatic give up the fight against the real cause, vote fraud, because they don't believe they have the majority of American voters at their back, when the reality is that they DO.

It's a crucial distinction that we must recognize in order to solve the problem. The MSM didn't give us Obama -- vote fraud did. The MSM has convinced way too many that there's no legitimacy to vote fraud. It's the elephant in the room that polite and "pragmatic" conservatives opt not to see because they're so terrorized by the MSM.

Why do Democrats have to cheat to win? Because the majority of voters reject them and cheating is the only way they can win. The MSM is an accomplice, not the perepetrator. Vote fraud is the perp, and the MSM is fooling people into thinking it's not.

Sweetie, if a program makes more money than another, most radio stations are going to carry it. You guys just aren’t good enough. Simple as that.

You need to forward this to her psychologist, asap. Is she on medication now? Electro-shock therapy? She doesn’t own a gun does she?

Now I get it - it's not the content of liberal talk radio is flawed for a format that requires rational though - its the station owners holding them back...

I have to agree with you; Station owners aren't in business to turn a buck, they are only in business to keep clowns like Stephanie Miller off radio.

MA has Democratic dominance due to statism. Big government=
teacher’s unions, construction people, etc. all voting for their own interests, and many of us know people or have relatives in government. Also there is a perception that Dems are great leaders like JFK and Republicans are a threat to
this country. There was a brief moment in 1990, etc., when
the GOP made some inroads (with RINO candidates) but then it went back to Gov, Lt Gov, Treasurer, Auditor, Atty General,
all 10 Congressmen, both Senators, 35 of 40 State Senators
and 144 of 160 State Reps being Dems.

Conservative talk radio does fairly well though because there are some people who are fiscal and/or social conservatives (aka liberals who got mugged); the vast
majority of liberal people probably listen to NPR or
don’t like talk radio. There are some conservative victories here— a 1980 law requires towns to limit
property tax increases to 2 and a half percent, and there
must be an override vote to change that. The overrides
usually FAIL though.

The fans of lib talk radio in Boston blame things like:
poor reception of AM 1200 and 1430 (which were Air
America, Oct ‘04 till Dec ‘06), a lack of advertising
the format by Clear Channel, and a lack of local hosts.
In Dec of ‘06 WKOX AM 1200 abandoned liberal talk for
all-Spanish. A month or so ago, a transmitter move &
power increase to help the signal in Boston finally happened, too late for Air America fans. But even before
the increase, both stations got halfway decent reception.

The most recent effort to bring back libtalk in Boston on _commercial_ radio was in Dec of last year when someone had to BUY TIME on all sports WWZN 1510. They added a local
morning drive host, and a 6 pm host from San Francisco
(the latter recently ended his show due to it being
unprofitable). So now there is one show, and they have to BUY TIME to air it. In Boston. By contract, WRKO host
Howie Carr was #1 in the ratings overall recently. He is
conservative. In Boston.

I have to add though, re: MA that there was a ballot question last year to eliminate the income tax. To starve the pols so they could spend responsibly. It went down to defeat, 71 to 29 per cent, IIRC. At the time I said, “hey, this is Massachusetts. We’re stupid.” (I voted to eliminate the state
income tax though).

SO what does the govt do? Stupid things like giving $175k/yr jobs that are unnecessary to political contributors. Then there was a firestorm—led by talk radio listeners—which forced the woman who was going to get that job—in a time of
economic crisis—to withdraw. Not so fast, “Maid Marian”
Walsh! So there is some voter rebellion here, though you would be hard pressed to find office holders with an R next to their name.

Thanks for your post. As one who lives a long way from MA, I have no first hand knowledge of what goes on there.

Special Interest Groups, one of the Dems trademarks. That makes sense. Post 45 also mentioned vote fraud, which is also one of the Dems trademarks.

I guess the only way to sway special interest groups is to convince them that their real interest lies elsewhere - like keeping America safe and prosperous. Tough sell, I guess.
