Strong. But Average. And Way Divided. (Obama poll most extreme in modern history)
ABC ^ | 4/5/09 | Gary Langer

There are a couple of data points worth keeping in mind as we await President Obama’s address to the nation tonight - and as we digest an aide's claim today, as Jake Tapper reports, that his strong approval rating is "earned." One, while his rating is high, it’s also dead average for a new president. The other is the impressive partisanship beneath it.

The 53-point difference between Democrats and Republicans in assessing Obama is numerically the biggest in data back to Eisenhower, albeit within sampling tolerances of the gap for George W. Bush.

He's on TV tonight? Again? Doesn't matter -- the teeheevee will remain off.

Unless he’s on a Law&Order re-run, I won’t be at risk of seeing him myself. Call me when he’s the dead guy on CSI or something. Not the Miami one, though, I can’t stand Horatio Kane.

He’s had more air time than Castro.

Here in Florida he’s airing propaganda on clean coal and how its the answer. That a nation who put men on the moon can create clean coal.

They make Pravda look like pure amateurs.

The blog is dated Feb 24. It’s a bit dated, isn’t it?

Actually, Drudge was posting this tonight. It is based on a Pew research poll. I could not get it to download as the link was not working yet. I posted this as it seemed to be the same thing. Then again, maybe not.

This cretin’s 8am team has been demonizing any strong Conservative voice.

He’s gotten everything he’s wanted so far while whining about Republians.

If they are so obstructionist, I really wish they’d OBSTRUCT ALREADY!

I set it to kid DVDs, set the children in front of it, then read forums. Then I don’t have my husband mad that I’ve cussed in front of the children at what Obama says.

Interesting that his figures are even more skewed than G. W. Bush, although there was one major difference. Bush came into office with the Chad Wars raging, and with all the major MSM figures attacking the legitimacy of the election.

Obama came into office with hallelujahs, and the entire MSM kissing his toes. Yet his polls are even more skewed than Bush’s.

The reason is pretty obvious. This article says, “And now there’s Obama, who’s made reaching across party lines a point of principle in his presidency, with little to show for it so far.” Well, no. Obama SAYS that, but unlike Bush he has made absolutely no effort at all to reach across party lines, unless you want to count buying the votes of Snowe, Collins, and Specter.

Bush, on the other hand, reached out for eight years, constantly trying to work with folks like Teddy Kennedy. What did it get him, besides constant kicks in the teeth and massive, counterproductive spending bills?

Bush was a moderate on most issues. Obama is a Communist/Muslim extremist, and probably not even American. No wonder the far left worships him but conservatives oppose all of his destructive programs.

Two programs about which I know nothing. Last time I turned the teeheevee on was for the Superbowl (just because) and don’t anticipate turning it on again anytime the rest of this year.

"And now there’s Obama, who’s made reaching across party lines a point of principle in his presidency..."

How can any reporter write this line with a straight face? Even an ABC liberal?
