Orange County, Ca Islamists are showing their commitment to silencing free speech by intimidation. They have announced to both the city of Orange and the Chapman University security officers, that they will be demonstrating against Geert Wilders tomorrow - Saturday 4/4/09.

This is Orange Countys first clash of civilizations, not the last.

Chapman College is one block north of the famous traffic circle in the city of Orange, at Chapman and Glassel streets.

The city of Orange has gained a reputation for it's antique stores. Have a soda at the famous Watson's drug store. There will be more tea parties - so ‘come on down’ and welcome Mr. Wilders to California. Most important is sending a message to militant Islam - How dare anyone, of any religion try to intimidate free speech in America. This ain't England, yet.

Answer: Apathetic. Although Orange County, CA has been mostly conservative for most of its existence, it is getting more and more liberal as time goes on.

Wanna know why? Simple. It has the rich liberal guilt.

Will someone PLEASE tell me the most conservative State to move to? The only reason we are still here is because of my wife's parents' problems. I'm about to put my foot down and tell her we are leaving!!! (we can support them outside state).

I'm thinking Arizona, where you still have the right to "open carry". Or maybe Nevada where you can't "open carry", but they are cool with weapons. What's happing in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho? It's time to move. I have a 3000 sq ft home in one of the best locations in South Orange County with a view and will lose value, but I want the hell out of here!

Yes, I know that property values are down, but I no longer care. I'm done with this shitty State. Help!

The protester is apparently a follower of Omar Bakri Mohammed, a Syrian-born Islamic militant active in England. In any case, it appears the protest was held in cold weather.

I just got back from the event. Chapman University is rght down the road from me.

I met Ernest_at_the_Beach and Tweeker.

There were quite a few counter-demonstrators - mostly from Act for America. The actual demonstrators didn't show, though (they didn't win or place either). :)

Robert Spencer was there, but just in the audience. The Reverend Lou Sheldon was in the audience and asked Geert Wilders a question during the Q&A period.

Even though I started the thread and wanted very much to
be in Orange this afternoon.. I couldn't because of a
previous commitment. My son attended and told me that the security was very tight. Police all over, metal wanding and purse checks were made.
So evidently the police were prepared for a reason. I wonder if the protest announced by ?? who, a mosque group, was only a test. If so,, we won this one.

IF I am wrong, someone correct me,, BUT I don't think FR has a designated ‘Jihad watch’ type page or ping list.
IMO, advancing Muslim activist is more of a threat to my
children than a bad economy. I recommend becoming a member in ACT to all. Find a chapter in your state and join.

I think the slumbering giant of conservatism is beginning to stir a little. We're doing our part out here in the other orange state getting ready for hosting the southeastern states regional FR convention on April 25 in Orlandp. Good response so far.

Freepers just HAVE to get out from their comfy computer chairs and go where the action is. Freedom ain't free and it's not always comfortable to hang on to it.
