Julius also said the police told her the officer slipped on wet pavement and the gun accidentally went off.

I wonder if it was even raining that day.

The cops seemed to think that it was all routine. “Shot, you say, well just calm right down”!

I’ve been saying it now for years and I get grief from the cops here on FR, BUT there is almost no situation you can be in that cops showing up won’t make worse.

Cops are often their own worst enemy. The root of the problem is big government, cops are asked to enforce the Nanny State and the feral wards of the State. The cops can develop a bad attitude when dealing with free citizens.

After what happened to those poor police officers in california (in Oakland and in Modesto) I do not blame the cops ONE BIT for having an itchy trigger finger.

Like “Keep your f’ing finger off the f’ing trigger until your f’ing sights are on the f’ing target”?

Well and perfectly stated.

I agree. This is a terrible criminal society we live in. Police Officers are nervous and trained to be aggressive to survive. At the same time, they deal with people like this guy, who are calling on them for rescue and help and the officers act in the same aggressive way to all citizens and they are hurting innocent people. At the same time, police officers are facing a lot of violent criminals who would kill them at the drop of a hat.

I don’t know the answer. I just know we are in a real mess now and something has to change. Officers can’t be shooting innocent people who call them for help and rescue.

So the cop managed to get a search warrant on a 911 call?

Yeah, something is fishy there.

This is a terrible criminal society we live in.

I whole-heartedly disagree! We live in a very well-mannered society where the citizen is PROTECTED from unlawful force. It must stay that way. If the police are cowards, they need to find a different job.

The entire structure of our government presumes that the citizens are the BACKBONE of the Nation, not the enemies of the government. That policeman needs to be ejected from the force and charged.

You can’t seriously be soliciting an attack on a police officer in an open forum, even if you believe the shooting was unjustified.

Wanna bet? There are some real idiots who post on "cop threads." Seriously disturbed ... hopefully they're just big talkers.

The cop lied about having a search warrant in order to control the civilian.
