I’ll just ask the obligatory rhetorical question:
How the hell does Obama come out of such a system and not be corrupt himself?
He’ll walk.
When ya gonna sing, Blago?
I wonder if Zero will be called to testify ... and be found wanting and then impeached(???) Be still my beating heart. But then we’d have Biden so forget it ....
no patti? ... just damn
“Blagojevich’s brother, Rob, took over as head of the governor’s campaign fund last August, just two months before federal authorities won court authorization to wiretap the then-governor’s home phone and campaign office.”
From the above, the Justice department started wiretapping Blago’s activities in October, just before the election.
Nice timing!
I hope he opens his mouth telling all he knows about OBAMA.

John, so Obama appoints one of Daley’s yes-men, LaHood, to run the Department of Transportation with all that money to throw around. It provides perfect cover to the untrained Illinois outsider’s eyes. Looks to me like the Chicago Daley machine gets to spend all the money. As if this is anything you don’t already know. Jeff T.
Dear Jeff — What makes Illinois politics so tasty are all the connections between Republicans and Democrats in the Combine. It’s like a big bowl of linguine with the strands tangled. So the indicted Cellini has LaHood’s back, and LaHood is supported by Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel , and DeLeo calls Rahm when he needs to, and everyone gets reform the Chicago Way.
Funny, but I don’t see this mentioned in the media. Nor the Cellini -DeLeo symbiosis, though Jimmy lived at Cellini ‘s sister’s house in Springfield for 15 years.
Why doesn’t this stuff make the news?
Perhaps this is a question best left to philosophers, not to some chumbolone like me searching for a cheap TV.

The indictment comes at a critical juncture for Chicago. Members of the International Olympic Committee are touring the city this week to appraise the city’s bid for the 2016 summer Olympics. Meanwhile, in Springfield, state lawmakers are debating measures that would cap campaign donations, limit lobbyists donations and make government more transparent.

Handicapping the competing bids is a guessing game at best, but many analysts believe Chicago enjoys an edge because U.S. President Barack Obama can be expected to lobby on behalf of his home town, and the Summer Games have not been held in the United States since 1996 in Atlanta.
A disadvantage for Chicago’s bid is that its guarantee against financial loss is covered locally and not by the federal government, as with the other cities. Chicago and the state of Illinois, which offered the IOC a $750 million guarantee, have experienced budget deficits of late.
Powerful Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has thrown his full weight behind the bid, ordering that city sights be spruced up and splashing colourful banners bearing the slogan “Imagine”. A poll the city commissioned found three-quarters of the city’s approximately 3 million residents want the Games there.
Hundreds of unionised Chicago police officers surrounded City Hall in a Thursday protest coinciding with the IOC’s arrival. Police have been without a contract since mid-2007.*

Davis and Vanecko have said they plan to use the money for real estate projects in neglected city neighborhoods including those surrounding Washington Park, a focal point of the mayors plans for the 2016 Olympics.
Hoffman recently issued subpoenas to three city pension funds for records involving DV Urban Realty. One of those funds, the Chicago police pension fund, is refusing to comply with Hoffmans subpoena. Hoffman doesnt have the authority to subpoena records from the pension fund, its attorney David Kugler said Thursday.

What is the difference between Blago ASKING for a job for his wife, and Barry GETTING jobs for his wife?
