How can they predict this? How do they know how all those absentees voted?
If correct, the GOP cannot continue to lose votes after election day. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

"Personally, based on how I've seen elections go over the past few years, I'm not sure I'll bother in the future. I just can't take these outcomes seriously."
Do you see how close these elections are? Staying home won't help. You are part of the problem if you're not part of the solution...

I HATED voting for John McCain. I thought he was about the worst Republican candidate I ever saw, but I voted for him.
If the GOP gets a clue and runs someone better, maybe I'll go vote for 'em. I do like Sarah Palin. But I see the Republican party picking RINOs as nominees and I see the Democrats engaging in naked election fraud, and I just don't see why I need to participate in that game.
And although I've never missed an election since 1978 (and I've never voted for a single Democrat), I am quite tired of the mantra: "Democrats win because Republicans refuse to vote". I think that is SERIOUSLY missing the real problem. The problem is two-fold: 1) The GOP does not oppose Democrat policies, and 2) The Democrats cheat.

What's with all races coming down to 200-some votes lately?
Something smells...

Even if Tedisco squeaks it out, he lost. He should have won by 6,000 votes. Steele is a retard, and should be fired. I don’t care if the Left screams “high-tech lynching!”. Get rid of the loser.

1) The GOP does not oppose Democrat policies Last I heard the House GOP stood united against the stimulus.
To: what's up
Only because they cannot stop it. When a situation arises in which the GOP might actually stop the Left, the GOP finds people like Collins, Snowe, Specter, or even McCain. And the deal is made, and the Left wins.
The GOP stands strong and united in opposition only when it serves no purpoise to do so.

when it serves no purpoise to do so I believe a large purpose was served.
When the stimulus goes into effect and all the corruption and failure is seen, EVERY House GOP member can say, "we told you so".
This is capable of having a very large effect come Nov. '10.

“they will try to have military ballots thrown out”
And they are often successful... unfortunately.

“The Democratic projection puts the total number of absentee and military ballots at 5,584 with Murphy winning 2,864 and Tedisco taking 2,720”
And how the hell would they know that, considered they’ve been “sequestered” by a judge? Sounds to me like some “special counting” has been occurring here.
Once again, another close “election” to the dems. We are toast.

The rats are willing to lie, cheat, and steal with absolutely no shame or conscience. The gutless Republicans don’t stand a chance.

How could they possibly come up with this figure? If I were a WaPo writer, this would be the first question out of my mouth. They have absolutely no way of knowing what the outcome will be, unless, of course, the flying monkeys at ACORN were involved.

This makes NO sense. Saratoga county is far larger than Warren or Washington Counties, and voted for Tedisco as Warren and Washington voted for Murphy, around 55%. How on Earth do they give their respective candidates the same amount of absentee advantage? How do the Democrats catch Tedisco when 500 more Republicans out of the 6,000 Absentees had taken out Absentees, and when 750 more Republicans have returned them? How do they claim victory when Republicans consistently win with Absentee ballot in Rural Republican Majority Districts, and when many of the ballots were sent back when Tedisco was up 15%?????
Tedisco may very well lose, but I dont understand the Democrat's confidence on this one. I just dont....

I think we're missing the forest for the trees. I wouldn't take anything for granted and all politics are local, but a race that is this close in New York isn't good news for the Democrats.
To: GeronL
no democrats have learned. Absentee ballots are a license to print victory.
You don’t need the actual voter, just a willing notary IF THAT.
Nursing homes are the best with old people who are clueless.
If a republican does not win by a wide marging the fraud allows the taking.

"I think that is SERIOUSLY missing the real problem. The problem is two-fold: 1) The GOP does not oppose Democrat policies, and 2) The Democrats cheat." I can't argue with that, but now that the radical libs have taken over the Rat party, there's NOTHING whatsoever to stop them from digging a hole so deep we'll never get out, while weakening our military, redistricting to keep themselves in power, and rigging the voting system so profoundly that everywhere they want, there will be a "D" behind the incumbent.

“they will try to have military ballots thrown out”
______________
I live by a large military base and have had several interesting conversations in the last few weeks. I don’t think the GOP can count on military votes the way we used to. The racial and ethnic make-up of today’s military has resulted in strong support amongst military members who used to stay home or show no interest- but support for OBAMA. How anyone can vote against their interests so obviously, I don’t know but it seems to be the case.
