Mine in two and a half hours. Non stop marathon movies will be playing on the big plasma/sound system even while I am on the computer in a different room. Lights on upstairs , downstairs, front yard, back yard, garage, driveway etc. I also need to do a few loads of laundry but that can wait till 9. Heck, gas being where it is I might even let the car idle for a half hour with the headlights on.

I think we should all burn manure in our yards at 8:30 PM. Burning Algore in effigy.

No lights on the Empire State Building NY landmarks pretty much dark. It’s the saddest thing to see.

Reminds me of Atlas Shrugged where the government forced skyscrapers to shut their lights off on the upper stories to save energy.

Instead of celebrating America we are supposed to cower in the dark?

Atlas Shrugged is right.

Yes, and Atlas Shrugged is happening now. San Francisco legislation is proposing themandating that skyscrapers turn off all nonemergency lights at night as a way to save energy.

I’ve got every light in the place on, I even got the Christmas lights back out and hung them around the front of the house, and I turned on the back flood lights to boot.

Screw Earth Hour, and screw the U.N. too.

Heartbreaking to see what has happened to this once great country. The beacon of hope for the rest of the world.

Inventions that make life better for everyone on earth, and now we’ve come to this.

I think I’ll go downstairs and see if our building has turned off the front lights.

Our lights, which are many, inside and out, have been on awhile and will remain so for a good while longer. We are rural and with the weather today there have only been a few cars go by so I have to catch what I can. Neighbors are a distance away as well. We have had rain, snow, sleet, small hail, snow again with a repeat of the rest and it has been doing this since dawn. Strangest weather ever. Anyway, even if our lights aren’t seen we are in solidarity with the rest of you.

I got my electric load up to 10.8 KW, but I did not run my 2 space heaters (1500 watts eacy), the oven, or the A/C. I guess I'm too cheap to jump that hurdle. Besides, it's nice outside right now with a strong breeze so I have some windows open.

Were I to run the oven (4 KW), the A/C (3.5 KW), and the two space heaters (3 KW), I could basically double my demand. Not to mention the vacuums, the air compressor, and about 5000 watts worth of power tools. :)

I took a quick look down the street - it appears that most of my neighbors are not participating in this silly exercise in futility.
