PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATOR NOW! DO NOT STOP UNTIL YOU GET THRU! Voice your opinion. As the Liberals love to say "Do it for the children" or "If we can save just one child" Today in the Senate March 25, 2009: This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). The Senate will convene at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to a period of morning business for up to 1 hour, with Senators permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each. Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R. 1388, the National Service Bill.

At 12:00 noon, the Senate will vote on the nomination of David S. Kris to be an Assistant Attorney General. Upon disposition of the Kris nomination, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R. 1388. Votes in relation to amendments to H.R. 1388 are expected to occur throughout the afternoon.

Ummm...dunno, but if you call the IRS, I’m sure they could explain it.

I’m aware of such a bill, but I am unaware of the particulars. Would someone be willing to provide the details with specific reference to language of the bill? Until the time I’m better educated, a call to a Senator is useless.

Next they'll be telling us that War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, and Ignorance is Strength... although they might have a point with that last one.

Please see this post for more information. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2214571/posts

Poster #65 states
“The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.”

Join Allan Keyes at the Million Man March Sept.12-13

Anti-Obama organizations are being united at Freedoms First
http://www.freedomsfirst.org/
for a ‘million man’ march on Washington.
The permit is secured- AND ALREADY OVER HALF A MILLION AMERICANS HAVE SIGNED UP!

This is the only way we will ever get the attention of our elected officials the MSM and the masses- protest!

From the FreedomsFirst website:

We are moving forward on our rally in Washington D C.
We are working non stop in preparations for this historical event to be held Sept 12-13 2009 at the Lincoln Memorial Reflections pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
As for the time, The million man march that took place a few years age took over 2 years to organize, we are trying to push this through as fast as we can.
To protest in DC you have to have a permit and have approval to use a certain piece of land.

We called ahead of filing for these things. September 12 &13 were the next available days they had.
The other organization, resistnet.com, which was putting together a march for May 30, didn’t do this so they were refused their permit. Now they are joining with our group. So, we are doing this absolutely as soon we can.
To have a successful march takes time and organization.

Why are we protesting ?
1. To get the attention of the mainstream media.
2. To demand That Obama Provide proof that he is eligible to be president.
3. To demand that Congress and the Supreme court uphold our constitution.
4. To inform the public on the issue of Obama’s ineligibility to be president of the USA.
5. To demand that they can not take our constitutional rights away.

PRESIDENT OBAMA, WE DEMAND THAT YOU BE TRANSPARENT NOW
We will come together in a peaceful rally.
We are proud Americans who fear that we are losing the America we all know and love.
The America where millions have served in our military sacrificing their lives so that we remain free.
A people who honor their flag and understand what it means to fly it and are so proud to do so.
It is time for our voices to be heard loud and clear. Our government is for the people and by the people.
We are Americans who see our rights slipping away as we speak.
It is time our voices are heard.
It is time for us to shout loudly and strongly that we refuse to live under a socialist regime, where our voices are silenced.
Lets take this action now before we awaken one morning and our freedoms are nothing more than a memory.

WE WILL BE UNITED- CHRISTIAN, JEW, BUDDHIST, HINDU, ATHEIST, BLACK AND WHITE.
WE WILL BE ONE- ONE OF MANY WHO STAND AS PATRIOTIC AMERICANS DEMANDING OUR VOICES BE HEARD.
We will be DEMANDING THAT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA ABIDE BY THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
WE DEMAND THE TRANSPARENCY HE PROMISED !!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS US ON THIS RALLY.
WITH YOUR PRAYERS, YOUR DEDICATION AND YOUR HELP, IT WILL BE
AN HISTORICAL, MAGICAL, WONDERFUL SHOW OF THE REAL AMERICA.

We ask you to wear RED, WHITE AND BLUE CLOTHING.
BRING YOUR FLAGS WAVE THEM HIGH.
SIGNS WILL BE PROVIDED- WE WANT TO GIVE THE GREATEST IMPRESSION OF WHO WE ARE AS WE WILL BE SEEN ALL OVER THE WORLD.
UNITED AND PEACEFUL AND WITH CONTROL
WE WILL LEAVE THE GROUNDS AS CLEAN AS THEY WERE GIVEN TO US.

Entertainment will be provided.
We are setting up a wonderful assortment of guest speakers, political and non political, prominent people and many surprises.
Major news networks, including CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. Resistnet.com will also attend.

.We will have live speakers and other entertainment for you.
Alan Keyes and Rev. Manning have already signed. We are close to securing Chuck Norris.

MUCH more to come.

Please make your reservations early as hotels and motels will fill quickly.

. Buses and shuttles will be provided to transport you from your hotels to the on site
rally.

.Tents will be provided as shelter for our entertainers and guest speakers.

.We will provide a First Aid Station
with a Registered nurse on duty along with an ambulance to be standing by for emergencies should
they arise.

. We are planning to have at least ONE THOUSAND porta potties.

.A tent to store emergency water and other supplies should they be needed will be provided.

. A welcome tent for you to pick up flyers with information of scheduled times for our speakers and
entertainment events and other important information including restaurants and areas of
interest, etc will be provided.

Please take the time to sign up so we have an idea of how many people we have attending and to get update emails so you know what to do, where to meet, where to park and what is happening, etc.

Looks like the Senate companion bill is S. 277. Authored by Fat Teddy himself. Has 40 cosponsors.

Amy Klobuchar is pretty worthless as MN's DFL Senator. But I sent her a mildly worded email any way. At least she hasn't signed on as a co-sponsor for this crap.

"Please post the sentence(s) that state service is “mandatory.” I didn’t see any."

Sec. 6104 (b) 6: Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

Please post the sentence(s) that state service is “mandatory.” I didn’t see any.

SEC. 6104. DUTIES.
...
(b) Specific Topics- In carrying out its general purpose under subsection (a), the Commission shall address and analyze the following specific topics:
...
(5) The effect on the Nation, on those who serve, and on the families of those who serve, if all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.

So it is not a dictate of this proposed law but the author(s) of it are opening a door for having mandated public service! What a CROC!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This legislation is contrary to the Constitutions first amendment. The House has already passed it. How can the SCOTUS not strike it down?

Not that I trust that it won’t be added back in in subsequent years after this monstrosity becomes law.

Both. ALL of 0bama’s policies, if you look at who they affect, are de facto reparations & slavery revenge (ie, “social justice”).

Someone on another thread inadvertantly figured out how this would work for this “voluntary” service.

Make it a requirement for college loans.
Only those who want to go to college, don’t qualify for grants, and can’t afford to pay out of pocket, would fall into being required to “volunteer”.

Middle class white kids.

It’s dated 19 March.

I haven’t found anything more recent and the mandatory language is still in it.

“The f’n enemy is how I see ‘em”

Couldn’t agree more.

As I have posted more than once, IMO it’s a war only the Socialist entities within our system, and their supporters Internationally recognize.

It’s long past time for Americans to recognize it as a war, declare we are at war, and end the enemy aggression targeted against our economy, and our Constitution.

There’s much work to do to put the aggressors out of our misery.

Sitting on a hoard of my own. I understand what you mean, but watching this all play out it is apparent few actually recognize our situation as “war”, but as political difference.

What makes this a war is the blatant disrespect for, and assault upon our Constitution by the Socialist/Democrat/Leftists, and therefore “we the people”.

Notice they have quietly declared victory? They are in the process of divvying their spoils of war.

It’s long past time for the counteroffensive.
