One of the more familiar sayings in politics is, "Don't get angry, get even."
The anger caused by using millions in taxpayer bailout money to pay "retention" bonuses to current and former American International Group Inc. employees and to fund banks that mostly won't tell what they did with the money is an object lesson for all of us. It offers taxpayers an opportunity to "get even" with those who have violated the U.S. Constitution, helped put our nation in peril and spent us into economic servitude to the Chinese.
President Obama has said he is angry, too, but he wants that anger to be "channeled" so it might do the most good. I agree with the president. But where should that anger be channeled? The president wants to channel it in ways that will create more government regulation of banks. The New York Times reported Sunday that the president "will call for increased oversight of executive pay at all banks, Wall Street firms and possibly other companies as part of a sweeping plan to overhaul financial regulation."
Is that the best way to channel our anger so it will do the most good? Should Congress and the regulatory authorities, which have failed so spectacularly and at every level (in both parties) be allowed to manage and repair the financial damage they helped cause? Can they be trusted with even more power to invade private industry, overrule stockholders and effectively run more and more companies? This is what totalitarian societies do, isn't it?

The problem is that intelligent people who would channel their energies to expose and rid us of people like Pelosi and Frank and Dodd ,and others of their ilk are outnumbered by those who are lead like lemmings to the cliff face by these self -same idiots who believe they have a plan.
The recipients of these entitlements. They think the well is filled with endless amounts of free gubmint benefits. The ones who pay little or nothing to keep that well supplied. The ones who vote for these scumbags.
Sounds like you’re the one that needs the education, sir.
The seats of Pelosi and Frank are safe. Their idiot constitutents will keep voting them in, unless they are caught on tape commiting murder (and even that might not do it). Its a toss-up whether Dodd gets voted out or not. Yeah, people are angry now, but its a long time till election day—my guess is he’ll probably stay too.
Sorry Cal, we are still too busy bashing Republicans. Check back with us in 2020.
Democrats are pure evil. I despise them far more than ANY Republican. Even Spector is against card check. I’ll take him rather than a RAT—any RAT.
Agreed. My issue is those among the "useful idiots" who buy the whole "greedy AIG bastards and their unfair bonuses" crap.
My previous post was ill informed .. I simply read the first line in Thomas's article and fired off my response. I've had coffee now and am thinking more clearly.
Sorry for the confusion
That is why I never could understand the outrage by conservatives against them, when Democrats were far worse on every issue...
"Conservatives" bear as much blame as anyone for this godawful government we currently have IMHO. Four years of tearing down GWB over illegal immigration paved the way for the Democrats.
I wonder how many honestly feel now that it was worth it?
I've worked in the political arena and I understand the numbers games. We do not have the luxury of jettisoning every Republican we do not agree with overboard. It would be nice, but it's not reality.
Bus tours of Dodd and his wife’s house? (Both received AIG bonuses, Dodd as political contributions and his wife as an employee of a ASIG subsidiary).
Also, why don’t we ask Barney Frank to haul them up before his committee so he can spit incomprehensible diatribes at them?
Pride will get you everytime (and that's what it was), only this time it cost us our nation. All we can do now politically now is watch our nation go down the toilet.
Frank needs term limitED. IE, it needs to happen TO him, in some manner, as he will not voluntarily step down.

In the above picture, who is wearing the most make-up?
If you answered Nancy Pelosi, you'd be wrong.
The clear winner is Christopher Dodd! Take a close look.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?
If the public doesn't rise up and stop this political coup of private industry,
we will all be the worse for it.
... we should channel that anger right back at the politicians most responsible
and clean House (and Senate) in November 2010.
Guilty on all counts!
Now enforce the TREASON LAWS mr AG Holder.
ha-ha just kidding ya Eric.
I know you're very busy going after all those right-wing militias that have magically sprung up since Jan 21, 2009. And all those dam gringo gun runners causing the anarchy in Mexico.
This bunch in DC now is so heinous, it should be a given we would be united.
The only thing surprising about what has happened in DC now is the rapidity of The Teleprompter's descent. Oh, to have McCain right about now.
I have to post this on every recent Pelosi thread. To you by way of iowahawk The 2012 Pelosi GTxi SS/RT Sport Edition
