Obama Youth Brigade: Church Attendance Forbidden
The Voice magazine ^ | March 24, 2009 | Jonas Clark

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

Skimmed over it, is this correct: If someone gets student loans, they have to serve a minimum of 3 months of mandatory volunteer service, and they cannot partipate or even think about any religious activities during their confinement?

This is the same group that might have supported midnight basketball in the 90’s.

I’ve skimmed the bill, it’s another leftie boondoggle with better funding (bailout trickle-down $$$$) but nothing to be exceptionally feared.

I’m totally against this program and legislation, but it seems inaccurate to claim that it’s prohibiting participants from attending church. From my reading, the bill simply declares that religious activities do not qualify as “volunteering” under the terms of the program.

No doubt with significant brain washing as part of the 3 months.

I can’t pull up the site. What part of the bill prohibits church attendance? What does it say?

I'd like to see obama recruit some Muslims with this.

Oh! But Islam advocates murdering unbelievers and terrorism so that would be allowed unlike judaism and Christianity which would be outlawed under the new regime.

This is the typical Marxist youth group: a vast resource for the totalitarian "democrat" party to enforce its status as a permanent regime, along with the ACORN thugs.

I am now of the opinion that the communists won the Cold War.

This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it. ....................... Oh? Do my grand children have to mandatory register for the Young Folk at age 8? Looks like they’re trying to get a little work out of those getting $$ for education. Too much BS going around about his, too much over reacting. I can’t see anything like a Hitler Youth movement happening anywhere in the USA, either on the right or the left. All this is Chicken Little garbage.
