The western Democrats like Baucus of Montana and Dorgan and Conrad of North Dakota know that this sort of spending is utterly ruinous to an economy and a currency. Some senators like Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, up for re-election in 2010, know that the voters are recoiling from this orgy of spending already, and absent dramatic evidences of a return to growth will judge the entire enterprise a failure.

Interesting look forward. While I agree that the GOP should slam cap and trade what can we offer to make health care better with conservative principles?

McCain offered it and his proposals made sense, consequently they were treated as being meaningless.

The GOP needs the wisdom and courage to stand up to what is inherently wrong. We shouldn’t trash the greatest health care system on earth to get health insurance to a small percentage who don’t have it and in many cases chose not to get it.

In most states it is illegal to sell an inexpensive policy to protect against catastrophic illness, which is what health insurance is needed for. Instead, we will all get communist third world basic care and checkups while the system which addresses things like heart disease and cancer goes to hell. And it will cost more.

No. It will be well-funded, from your taxpayer dollars, and will be available only to the ruling elite.

I think even moderate democrats are going to be voted out of office in 2010. I think anyone with a dem and an I for incumbent by their name is doomed in 2010. The anger among the electorate is that palpable and its widespread and growing throughout every single state even the most liberal ones of em.

I was hoping for the bi-partisan approach. Vote out all criminals, regardless of party affiliation.
