” If in the opinion of the People, the distribution or modification of the Constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed.”

GEORGE WASHINGTON, farewell address, Sep. 19, 1796

George Wahsington is one of the few truly great men in history. Not for his intellect or because of his military or political careers. But because he recognized and understood the importance of the divinely inspired principles upon which the nation was built and stuck to these in the face of seemingly certain defeat and proferred temptation. His courage and steadfastness in holding to the founding principles made this country what it was.

Ever since his day men not fit to lace his boots have worked incessantly to undermine and destroy the nation that he was truly father to. We have hit the nadir today. Our current political “leadership” is the most malignant, foolish, incompetent and dangerous in our history. We are at one of those points in history when all eyes are on the horizon looking for someone who really can lead; who really does understand and love this nation and its founding principles. So far there is no sign of this person. I pray he/she will arrive before it is too late.

After winning a great victory at Trenton, Washington wrote a letter in which he lauded the efforts of his troops and officers. NEarly 1000 Hessians were captured. Obama would have taken all of the credit and blamed someone else had it gone badly. The difference between a hero and a thug.
