Hey, Newbie, you mean the "libtard ideals" like Barbara Boxer who came from NYC or Nancy Pelosi who came from Baltimore, MD...ya know if you geniuses would do a little homework, you wouldn't continually qualify for my tagline!

"Who knows how much oil & gas is offshore and onshore."

The oil offshore that we don't mine anymore is bubbling up through the sand right now. That's why the ocean isn't blue anymore. If waste from drains could do that, we would have algea making it blue-green again. So we have greyish water from unmined oil that is sitting just below the surface bubbling up.

Unfortunately, many of those leaving CA are infesting other states bringing their libtard “ideas” with them, complicating the lives of the natives.

You can see the influence around Boise, ID. Ditto in WA.

I visited my great aunt in WA a few years back. She punched her fist in the air and proclaimed, "Dems Rule here!". I looked at her and said, "I'm sorry". That wasn't the reaction she was expecting. I hadn't seen her since we visited for Thanksgiving dinner in 1964. We've certainly grown up with different political points of view.

As a California native, I share a similar view of the east-coast-liberals* that have infested California. *(e.g. Boxer, Pelosi, etc.)

It didn't start in California.

It's called sarcasm, honey. It was satire of the pro-Arnold posts from 2003 demanding that Tom McClintock drop out of the Governor's race and endorse Arnold. Figured you'd realize that if you had any idea that was Arnold supporters said back when he first ran.

By the way, I hate to break the news to you, but Ronald Reagan is actually "from" Illinois. Born here, raised her, educated here, began his career here. Illinois "gave" you guys Ronald Reagan, not the other way around. All the places Reagan lived in Illinois are staunch Republican regions today, vs. all the places in California he lived being socialist Democrat havens that share none of Reagan's "values" or legacy whatsoever. Eukera, Illinois has nothing in common with Eureka, California. Indeed, the ONLY reason Reagan lived in California and ran for office there is because he needed to be there to launch his movie career.

And Obama is not "from" Illinois either, he's from Hawaii and Indonesia. Yes, we voted for the marxist transplant, and so did your state (by around the same margin actually), but Obama won 60% here thanks to all the local politicians who owed him big time. What's your excuse?

“...many of those leaving CA are infesting other states bringing their libtard ideas; with them...”

Careful, most I know, including my family, are hard-working capitalists fed up with the left’s domination in California.

From my angle, preparing to move from Taxifornia, most states are clammering for the influx of productive Californians.

By the way, after having lived and worked in California for twenty plus years (raised in the commie-union infeseted MidWest) I can tell you that Californians are some of the hardest working people on the planet.

The oil offshore that we don't mine anymore is bubbling up through the sand right now.

Did you see the article yesterday about this. Even the environmentalists agree with this and were willing to do some drilling to relieve it.

Unfortunately, the Utopian left didn't want to ruin their pretty view or to suggest that they would ever, ever, ever allow real drilling to support our energy needs. (Thanks for NOTHING John Garamendi!)

California Rejects Oil Agreement between Industry and Greens

The California State Lands Commission has rejected an agreement by industry and environmental groups that would have allowed environmentally friendly oil production off the coast of Santa Barbara.

According to the commission, the economic and environmental benefits of the agreement are outweighed by the presumption of possible future harm if the agreement should inspire additional offshore oil production.

Natural oil seeps off the shore of Santa Barbara are responsible for substantial pollution of regional waters, and area environmental groups are eager to mitigate the problem. Oil companies want to take advantage of the seeps, which they see as an abundant oil resource, and thereby help clean up the environment.

The State Lands Commission voted 2-1 in late January to forbid oil production offshore from Santa Barbara.

Lt. Gov. John Garamendi (D) cast the deciding vote on the commission and, according to the Los Angeles Times, said allowing new production in state waters would suggest the state welcomes offshore drilling and would encourage oil companies to look into additional offshore oil production opportunities.

That, according to Garamendi, would negate any economic and environmental benefits from oil production off the coast near Santa Barbara.

State Controller John Chiang (D) cast the other no vote, doing so without comment.

(snip)

Yeah, but we made him into the man he became. Otherwise he would have been stuck battling the Chicago machine. What a waste. ;-)

Nope, I don't like out-of-state clowns coming on CA threads with their lame posts... people need to clean up their own state before they criticize those of us who actually live, work & pay taxes in CALIFORNIA!

Sadly, Arnold didn't learn anything about Reaganism from living in California, (I don't think the Hollyweird crowd is going to educate him much, even if they used to work with Reagan) Hanging out with his wife's family in Mass. certainly isn't helping either. Since Arnold grew up in a "socialist country" by his own admission, maybe he should come visit with Reagan grew up and meet some real Republicans.

The Ronald Reagan Trail is a collection of highways in central Illinois that connect villages and cities that were of importance to former United States President Ronald Reagan. The trail was established in 1999 by the state of Illinois' General Assembly, five years prior to former president Reagan's death in June of 2004.

Fortunately Reagan was only a toddler when he lived in the city of Chicago for about a year, so he was too young to remember any of it and they had no influence on his world view. Obama, on the other hand.... well let's not go there. ;-)

Yes, it's true that Reagan became a convert to conservativism during his California years.

Seriously though, if you visit the places in California that Reagan was "from" (Bel Air, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Sacramento, etc.) you won't learn anything about the man or about Reaganism, since those places are socialist Democrat havens that could care less about about what their former resident believed in. (No wonder Reagan decided to build his library in staunchly conservative Simi Valley instead, even though he was NEVER "from" there!) However, if you visit the places he lived in Illinois (Dixon, Tampico, Eureka, Monmouth, Galesburg, etc.), you will find the locals there are overwhemingly Reagan Republicans.

So again I think Arnie needs to spend some time in the other Eureka.

What's your point? In 1998, Illinois elected Peter Fitzgerald (conservative Republican) U.S. Senator, and California elected Barbara Boxer U.S. Senator.

Illinois elected Ronald Reagan President twice, and George H. Bush once, but has since voted Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama. California's record on presidential elections is the same, with nearly the same percentage of popular votes.

In 2003, Illinois voted to replace a RINO Governor with a RAT Governor who ran as a "reformer", but made things worse.
In 2003, California voted to replace a RAT Governor with a RINO Governor who ran as a "reformer", but made things worse.

Our General Assembly is currently run by socialist Dems tax and spending us into bankruptcy, your General Assembly is currently run by socialist Dems tax and spending you into bankruptcy.

I think we're pretty much even here as far as our recent election history is concerned (except Illinois manages to coordinate our "special elections" a bit better so we're not wasting taxpayers money... for example the "special election" to replace Rahm Emanuel was placed on the ballot to occur during the "local elections" for mayor and school boards so people will be voting anyway)

And personally I think Californians out to thank us meanie "out of the staters" who warned them about Ahnuld being a disaster. I'd be profusely thanking any California freepers if they had warned us not to vote for Blago.
