That’s just my opinion, y’all know I am a skeptic of all sides of this..
Obama doesn't have to pay anything. He can just authorize Hawaii to sell raised seal copies of his real birth certificate (which they have already said they possess) to anyone who requests one and pays the fee.

Because: This is nonsense which distracts from the broadly unexplored story of Obama’s upbringing.
It’s a great thing he has going for him. A handy distraction that make opposition look batty.

The ONLY reason to seal a birth certificate is after an ADOPTION. The “orginal” certificate would have been sealed when his name was changed to Soetoro at the same time he became an adopted son of an Indonesian citizen.
It is time for folks to stop being played by the Obama campaign and drop this counter productive ‘phony birth certificate’ nonsense. Obama opponents can find plenty of real material by focusing on the hard-left alliances, stated positions, personnel appointments and policy actions of the Obama administration and of the Democrat-controlled Congress.
The paper there does not seem to be a big fan of the chosen one...

Not if the 1961 birth announcements in the newspapers are real. Thats the key and should be easily verifable in the absence of the certificate. Unless you think that the conspiracy started in 1961.

I actually managed to shut up a newspaper columnists who pointed to the DailyKos copy as proof. I said “Fine, take that into court and end the whole matter”. Even he realized what would happen if Obama took that document into court and said it was authentic.
Years in jail for forgery and fraud if it wasn’t real. That’s why that “authentic” COLB hasn’t been introduced in court. As a matter of fact, Obama has never claimed that copy was real.
Perhaps the use of the word “millions” was a bit of an exaggeration, but the underlying premise remains. He has spent a LOT of money on lawyers to fight against the release of a document that he claims he already released. Now he know he can’t release the vault copy because:
a. it doesn’t exist.
or
b. it exists and shows information that proves his COLB posted on his official website is a fraud.
Either way, he’s screwed if it comes out so he has to keep paying to hide the truth.
I have not seen his litigation bills but I can tell you that the cost of defending these numerous types of lawsuits brought by Berg, Keyes, Martin and the number of other people who have filed suits in multiple jurisdictions and that have resulted in an answer or other type of pleading filed by Obama or the DNC would by now total at least several hundred thousand dollars and probably into seven figures.
We can be sure Obama is not personally bearing this cost, and it is probably coming out of the DNC compliance fund for the general election campaign. And I would be surprised if some of the firms are not taking a haircut on fees in exchange for the prestige and possible goodwill curried with Obama and the Rats by serving as counsel to Obama and the DNC. Nevertheless, with all of these lawsuits, the fees and expenses by now have accumulated to a substantial amount.
Of course to Obama, it’s just other people’s money, and we know how he feels about that.
That he could have avoided nearly all of these fees by submitting the actual birth certificate in the first of these lawsuits I think means that he is afraid of something that would be revealed by the birth certificate. McCain, as we know, submitted his birth certificate in the first lawsuit that challenged his own eligibility by virtue of being born to parents stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. The notion that Obama has nothing to hide but is just “playing” the opposition by stonewalling seems unlikely.
Then by all means, please post us the articles and issues that are important. Lord knows no one else on FR has time with all this birth certificate stuff. Oh, if you run out of ideas about subject matter, look here.

Yeah I've got to agree with this sentiment as expressed here and elsewhere. It would be clever, and the man is nothing if not that.

Exactly! Since he won’t do this, the big questions is “Why”?
