For months, anyone who's proffered the position that the Obama Administration was anti-gun has been dismissed as being a variety of things, from sore loser to rampant paranoid. Nonetheless, since assuming office, members of the Obama administration have steadily- and stealthily- moved against firearms and ammunition.
Their only public blunder was Attorney General Holder's saying the "assault weapons ban" needed to be reinstated. Quickly, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi - no friend of gun owners - went on record as opposing Holder's suggestion. She went as far as to parrot the words of pro-gun groups, saying the government should enforce the laws on the books today, rather than introducing new laws.
At the same time, the State Department notified Canadian authorities of plans to issue an export ban on "military caliber ammunition" to Canada. That proposed action would prevent the sales of .223, .308 and other military calibers.
When Canadian authorities protested - and notified several members of the American media, the U.S. State Department suddenly went silent. But they quietly reinstated other rules and charges firearms exports-retroactively.
Last Friday, the anglers and hunters were notified that the National Park Service planned to make all lands under their control totally lead-free by 2010. No lead in ammo or fishing tackle.
that decision has kicked off howls of protests - and questions about the NPS trying to usurp states' rights by issuing their unilateral decision with no prior notification...
All these things are racing along on parallel tracks. Now, many observers - and not just those on the pro-gun side of the discussion - believe the country is hurtling toward a confrontation.
The catalyst might be any one of several flashpoint issues, but both groups seem to believe a reckoning is unavoidable.

Meanwhile, every bit of hardware and ammo available on the retail level is piling up on the good guys’ side of the line in the sand.
Only the King’s men shall have weapons. Only the King’s men shall be able to use the King’s lands. No game shall be taken from the King’s lands.
This takes me back the better part of a millenium to Merrie Olde England.
A prayer that Democrats would be Democrats to the Nth degree, in this administration has come true. I don’t think they will be able to see what they are doing, until it is way too late.
“Come and get them”
You can contact your elected officials in Washington by going to this webpage http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml and following the links to your respective Senator or Congressman.
One key member of the United States Senate is Montana’s Senator Max Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. Baucus could make a call to the Pentagon and let them know their budgets might be reexamined if they don’t reconsider this latest directive.
Well as a member of our new group..”The cold dead handers” , I welcome the rest of you who will realize that we in fact are in the group.
And now the talk of surplus government brass (.223 etc) being ordered destroyed for scrap instead of reselling that’s flying around the internet(s) right now... Pretty scary. If you can’t take away the guns (yet)... price the ammo out of reach?
Stealing our ammo *PING*
The Department of Defense has issued a directive that bans the sale of military brass to ammunition re-manufacturers.
Without that brass, a very large dent is put into civilian ammunition supplies.
New Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) requirements call for the “mutilation of shell casings”. Mutilation, incidentally, is the destruction of the property “to the extent that prevents its reuse or reconstruction”.

I am inferring from this that they were TRYING to be stealth but the cat got let out of the bag, and Pelosi tried her hand at cat herding, unsuccessfully.
This sudden realization makes me want to buy MORE guns and ammo.
“NPS trying to usurp states’ rights by issuing their unilateral decision with no prior notification...”
This is SOP for the fascists at the NPS. It just issues dictates, much like the soviets in the former USSR, and expects everyone to roll over and bark.
The key is to confront these NPS fascists at every corner and point.
Back in the 1990s, the NPS tried to restrict all motoboats at Isle Royale NP. This was in spite of the fact that the state gave the archipelago to the federal government with the proviso that the islands would be forever open to motorboats.
The scrawy little fascist pig head ranger tried to keep boats out by refusing to maintain the docks, so boaters sued. They eventually won the case at a cost of $600,000. The other good outcome was that the ranger prick died.
Dems are total idiots
my cold dead fingers.....
Ban guns and only the....
This leaves a gaping hole for a compnay to come in and put together a truly huge factory for cartridge manufacture.
Olin, where are you?
There is a simple solution.
Show us the real Birth Certificate.
And send the Lying Kenyan Commie back to Kenya and silence his minion’s assault on our liberties.
These dweebs are flicking matches awfully close to the powder keg...
“Dems are total idiots”
Wished it were that simple, but I fear the correct description is they are a bunch of Commies.
Seems like a booming market awaits, good place for venture capital to invest in new domestic fabrication plants that`ll make a high profit.
They can specialize in those "decommissioned" calibers and cash in on a potential fortune.
That is why I started reloading... the price is going up. That, and I can’t even find ammo on the shelves anymore.
Whoever has posted the articel on the DOD crushing used cartridges should keep it posted as much as possible. Our evening crowd won’t have seen it.
2010 is looking so good right about now.
This is just the beginning.
This deserves an extra special bang list ping. People really need to contact their legislators.
Georgia Arms is a fixture at every gun show I go to. Of late, their booth has been a feeding frenzy scene, going back to late last Summer.
“This is just the beginning.”
Either a New American Beginning, or the Beginning of the End of the Republic.
My attitude at this point is, “what ever it takes” to stop this madness.
I prefer for them to blink, and back away from the abyss. Or for someone to produce the original BHO Birth certificate.
Failing that, the unthinkable may be thinkable.
Then I remember, this is still Texas.
And Texans have not changed that much.
From my cold dead fingers
Now all we need is the guts.
I hear ya!
I hear ya!
The Department of Defense has issued a directive that bans the sale of military brass to ammunition re-manufacturers.
So let me get this straight:
1. The government forcibly takes our money to Buy Ammunition for the military
2. Said government is then going to Spend MORE of Our money to "mutilate shell casings".
3. In order for the taxpayers to pay More for ammunition
So that we the taxpayers get screwed even more, Wonderful
Classical Athens lasted about 170 years. This may be all that we can do as Americans before sinking into the mire of typical governmental tyranny that most of the world has faced since the Sumerians built their first city.
In a thousand years, someone might emerge with the Federalist Papers and the Constitution and wonder about us and examine what went wrong.

Stay safe FP !
All those "wonderful things" we got from enhanced executive privilege are now going to come back and haunt us now used by the Obama administration.
It was Fascism with a Republican face when GWB did it, and it will be Fascism with a Democrat face now that Obama is doing it.
It would have been nice if the so-called conservatives around here had recognized it as fascism plain and simple regardless of party affiliation.
Politics, banners seen as suspect.

Tim Neal of Miller County was shocked recently when he heard a radio program about a strategic report compiled by state and federal law enforcement agencies to combat terrorism.
On the Web ● Controversial law enforcement report outlines Missouri 'militia' habits
Titled The Modern Militia Movement, the report is dated Feb. 20 and designed to help police identify militia members or domestic terrorists. Red flags outlined in the document include political bumper stickers such as those for U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, talk of conspiracy theories such as the plan for a mega-highway from Canada to Mexico and possession of subversive literature.
But when Neal read the report, he couldnt help but think it described him. A military veteran and a delegate to the 2008 Missouri Republican state convention, he didnt appreciate being lumped in with groups like the Neo-Nazis.
I was going down the list and thinking, Check, thats me, he said. Im a Ron Paul supporter, check. I talk about the North American union, check. Ive got the America: Freedom to Fascism video loaned out to somebody right now. So that means Im a domestic terrorist? Because Ive got a video about the Federal Reserve?
Blogs and Web sites frequented by people interested in civil liberties issues have been overloaded in recent days with comments from angry readers who view the document as a precursor to an American KGB spying on U.S. citizens.
The government is out of control, we are just trying to survive, wrote one poster who identified himself as John Adams.
But state law enforcement officials said the report is being misinterpreted. Lt. John Hotz of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the report was compiled by the Missouri Information Analysis Center based in Jefferson City and comes purely from publically available, trend data on militias.
Hotz said MIAC, which opened in 2005, is a fusion center that combines resources from the federal Department of Homeland Security and other agencies. It was set up to collect local intelligence to better combat terrorism and other criminal activity, he said.
All this is an educational thing, Hotz said of the report. Troopers have been shot by members of groups, so its our job to let law enforcement officers know what the trends are in the modern militia movement.
The reports most controversial passage states that militia most commonly associate with third-party political groups and support presidential candidates such as Ron Paul, former Constitutional Party candidate Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate last year.
Hotz said using those or similar factors to determine whether someone could be a terrorist is not profiling. He said people who display signs or bumper stickers from such groups are not in danger of harassment from police.
Its giving the makeup of militia members and their political beliefs, Hotz said of the report. Its not saying that everybody who supports these candidates is involved in a militia. Its not even saying that all militias are bad.
Not everybody agrees. At a Tea Party to protest wasteful government spending Thursday in Flat Branch Park, several people displaying the Revolutionary War-replica Dont Tread On Me flag were upset to learn the MIAC report lists the banner as a militia symbol.
Thats insane, said Doug Wendt looking at the MIAC document. That is not a militia symbol. That is American history. This is historic. The only animosity American colonists ever directed with this was towards England.
Roger Webb, president of the University of Missouri campus Libertarians, also took offense. Its absolutely obscene, he said of the report. It seems like they want to stifle political thought. There are a lot of third parties out there, and none of them express any violence. In fact, if you join the Libertarian Party, one of the things you sign in your membership application is that you dont support violence as a means to any ends.
Neal, who has a Ron Paul bumper sticker on his car, said the next time he is pulled over by a police officer, he wont know whether its because he was speeding or because of his political views.
If a police officer is pulling me over with my family in the car and he sees a bumper sticker on my vehicle that has been specifically identified as one that an extremist would have in their vehicle, the guy is probably going to be pretty apprehensive and not thinking in a rational manner, Neal said. And this guys walking up to my vehicle with a gun.
There are still a bunch of crotchety old farts, like myself, who will resist to the very last breath the destruction of this nation.
Some of them are much older than me, but the fire is still in the belly.
Some of them are younger than me, and still feel the same way.
Either the Obamanista’s will look into the abyss we are approaching and blink, or something will trigger it.
Either way, so be it. We are not There yet, but approaching it rapidly.
I asked, well what is going to happen to those people we cant reeducate, that are diehard capitalists? and the reply was that theyd have to be eliminated.
And when I pursued this further, they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers.
And when I say eliminate, I mean kill.
Twenty-five million people.
I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people.
And they were dead serious.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWMIwziGrAQ
Yes, I have seen the video. He quotes Bill Ayers as having stated that. 25 million Americans to be eliminated.
If that is where we are going, let them try.
I will not be pacified, subjected, or re-educated. Will die first.
But this is still Texas where I live, and I doubt I will be alone.
ignorance showing a bit
This may get very ugly.
Not only for us but the following generations who are unaware of what is headed their way.
Uh oh, I read on another thread that that's considered "militia talk".
Well then so be it:
2010 might as well be in another century.
