What, we can’t run to Mexico as sanctuary if we knock off a bank anymore?
If they were taking bribes from smugglers, then it would have been better for the Mexicans to just hang em.

If the former agents are guilty (and it does look bad that they fled), they deserve what they are getting.
IMO as the number of illegals and drugs entering the USA has increased dramatically, the corruption on our side has also increased.
In the 1980s, Mexican friends of mine described their police: “En Mexico, la mentira es lo que vale. En los Estados Unidos, castigan a los policias corrompidos.” Translation: “In Mexico, the lie is the rule. In the USA, they punish corrupt police.”
While that is still true, it seems to me that the difference is less than it was.
