Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol has reportedly broken off her engagement with Levi Johnston, the father of her 2-month-old son Tripp. It's surprising because in an interview just last month with FOX's Gretta Van Susteren, Bristol said the 19-year-old Levi is a hands-on dad and that they planned on marrying after finishing their education.
But in a new interview with Star Magazine, Levi's sister Mercede Johnston says Bristol actually broke up with Levi more than a month ago, is not attending school and rarely lets her baby daddy see their young son. Mercede also says Bristol even told him that she hates him and, when she learned she was pregnant, wished the baby wasn't his.
Mercede told Star: "Bristol's just crazy. That's the nicest way I can put it. She and Levi actually broke up a while ago!"
Apparently, Levi is also far from being a hands-on dad. Said Mercede: "Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible for him. She tells him he can't take the baby to our house because she doesn't want him around 'white trash.' She treats him so badly!"
Why am I not surprised.
What, was there a press conference about this?
Why the hell would the media report this other than to smear this poor girl?
It's hard to take an article that uses the phrase "baby daddy" very seriously.
Hormone imbalance..................
My 27 year old son has been engaged, not engaged, engaged, not engaged to the same girl for the last 2 years.
This is not surprising, considering they have been under a microscope for the last 6 months. Life is tough but they didnt deserve what the media did to them.
Surprise, surprise.
I believe the Johnston family had a pesky little problem with drug dealing. I can’t blame her for not letting the baby go to the “in laws”
Let me call BS. Certain political and media forces have something on Mercede or won over her.
This says Star Magazine got this from Levi’s sister in an interview.
True or not true, or somewhere in between, there is an agenda to destroy anything Palin.
Well its official, Sarah Palin really isn't qualified to be President afterall.
(Do I really need the sarc tag here?)
Poor little Tripp, he is the true victim in all this.
So the sister... of the boyfriend... of the daughter... of the republican running mate...of John McCain, said something.
NATIONAL NEWS!!! NATIONAL NEWS!!!!
or paid her off.
Ummm... this is from the Star - like the National Enquirer, but without the credibility...
Or Mercede has some reason to get back at the Palin’s.
Sounds like fishy pot-stirring.
Why does anyone care about this at all? It is less interesting than anything else out there. Are you so voyeuristic that you want this sort of trashy “news” reporting to continue? I bet you buy the Enquirer at the grocery store too
Ooooh, white trash. I guess he can be elected President if he’s a Democrat.
I understand that this story is so important that it has crowded-out the real news of Pelosi using the USAF as her personal servant.
......and this is news....why?
Wonder how much Mercedes was paid for this interview.
I’m not surprised in the least. If Bristol really loved Levi like she professed last year she would have married him before the baby was born. Baby born in December, now it’s March and still no marriage. There never was going to be one if it didn’t happen when she found out she was pregnant.
Ya mean Cindy McCain didn't cheat on Johnny!? What about the claims of Palin faking her pregnancy!?/sarc
Of course the Palin-haters will buy this gossip hook-line-and-sinker.
I always wondered that if they planned to be married, why they didn’t do it before the baby was born. After that, they kept pushing it forward with some pretty lame excuses that led one to believe there was some problems.
Star Magazine
Well it must be true then.
I wouldn't let my baby go to that house, either
Meanwhile, John Edwards speaks at Brown University to a standing ovation and his hapless wife has another book coming out on how to deal with life’s adversities. The MSM is back in love with John & Liz.
...and to take down more “conservative values” and make sure we are fussing amongst ourselves. Alinsky’s tactics - “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it.”
The leftist blogs eat this stuff up, real or imagined, and will use every drop of it against us. We have bigger battles on our hands than deciding who is right/wrong in the Palin/Johnson squabble. Let it be....
I'm not surprised in least that gossip tabloids interviewing some teenager who may be bought off or has motives, bears credibility with some Freepers.
Meh, I really don't care either way.
Bingo. This is more fodder against Palin.
I doubt smearing just Bristol is what this is about. Smearing anything to do with Sarah on the other hand...
Or pot-smoking
The only way to make this correct is for the "powers that be" to destroy some newspapers ~ I was thinking the New York Times ought to be pretty near the top of that list, so maybe they can be disposed of just slightly earlier than planned as a warning to the others.
Amen.
To keep the John Edwards love-baby story off the headlines, especially since his wife has cancer.
When the Democrats are guilty of something, find a Republican to deflect attention. In this case, let's talk about Bristol Palin instead of John Edwards, since Edwards was clearly the more consequential of the two.

No, my friend, I don't buy the Enquirer and don't traffic in "trash". My post is solely pragmatic politics for governor Palin. And the practical reality is that the Johnsons will be a problem- they presumably know a lot- and whether they are lying or not, they're plainly going to run their mouths.
Not to mention the "baby daddy" is named after pants and the sister of "baby daddy" is named after a car. I wonder if they have another sibling named "Seven?"
Welcome to FR Mr. Troll. Do you and your minions actually take delight in fatherless children? Of course you do. Do you take delight in celebrating a tragedy? Of course you do.
Hmm, I smell troll....
The NYT is doing a fine job on its own of shooting itself in the foot, but we could give a little nudge :)
“I always wondered that if they planned to be married, why they didnt do it before the baby was born. After that, they kept pushing it forward with some pretty lame excuses that led one to believe there was some problems.”
I think it was because mommy was running for VP. Image and all.
Not putting them down or anything, but that was sort of a PR nightmare for Palin who was attempting to woo the conservative base. By stating they were getting married, it may have assuaged some of that scrutiny.
Now that the election is over, they can go about their business as usual. They’re young...not surprising they’ve called it off....for now anyway.
