Obama to name Seattle police chief as U.S. drug czar

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will nominate Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske to be U.S. drug czar and remove the job's Cabinet designation, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Kerlikowske would head the Office of National Drug Control Policy, which was elevated to Cabinet level under former President George W. Bush.

The nomination of Kerlikowske would end a long search for a candidate to oversee U.S. efforts to fight illegal drugs. Kerlikowske was long speculated to be the front-runner, but revelations about his stepson's arrest on drug-related charged complicated the nomination process, the Post reported.

So BO pick the police chief of a city with one of the most liberal drug policies in America to be the drug czar. I don’t think Seattle even arrest people unless they have a warehouse full of crack. Now other serious offenses like using a plastic bag or not recycling might get you life.

"Wow...is violating the law a prerequisite to work for Obama?"

He is friends with Bill Ayers. I would not be surprised to find he is a friend of "Turd"(Ward) Churchill.

Mike Church coined the name Turd Churchill so I don't want to claim credit for it. I just thought the name fit.

"revelations about his stepson's arrest on drug-related charged complicated the nomination process"

While a person can't actually control another family member's actions; this just seems to fit the Democrat Appointee Script.

Why do you think he is looking at legalizing pot? Gotta have something to dope up the masses so they don’t realize how they are getting royally f-—ed by the govt.

"Turd Churchill" was not an original thought from me. I heard it from someone else. But you have to admit it fits.

Bambi no doubt plans to legalize marijuana because (a) being stoned keeps the population tranquil and (b) it will provide him with huge tax benefits. Plus he probably owes some money to his dealers.

This will be no problemo. The media won't mention it but once. In contrast with Bristol Palin, who was an unmarried pregnant teenager, and who's mother is a charismatic Republican politician. In the eyes of the MSM, that's far worse than being arrested for drugs.

This was linked to, back in week three.

Obama appoints Gil Kerlikowske to be the nation’s new drug czar. Kerlikowske has established himself as a devoted lobbyist for every restrictive gun law proposal.

I think they floated his appointment out there in week three to “vet” their prospect. Since he has not yet been shot down for some impropriety, then they get their man in.

Kerlikowske was expected to mention his family's struggle with drug abuse at the event announcing his nomination, the Post said. Obama admitted using cocaine as a teenager in his memoir "Dreams from My Father."

He's going to get in trouble with the Rat Party for mentioning that Barack Hussein Obama admitted to cocain use.
