Largo police stopped a Clearwater man early this morning because they say he was driving a car that had only three tires. A short time later, they arrested him for having a blood-alcohol level nearly twice the level at which the state presumes a person is unable to safely drive.
Henry C. Romeu, 27, faces DUI charges.
According to police, Romeu was traveling on East Bay Drive just after 2 a.m. without a rear passenger tire, something Largo police Lt. Mike Loux said isnt as uncommon as you think. Romeu displayed uneven balance, had bloodshot eyes and registered 0.200 and 0.198 during subsequent Breathalyzer tests, police said.
Under state law, a driver is presumed to be impaired if he or she has a blood-alcohol level of 0.08.

Curtis Turner would be proud of such a feat of driving.
I have seen a car going down the highway with NO tires (after midnight) on. It took me a while to figure out what was going on with sparks from wheels and body dragging shooting everywhere. It came from the direction of a salvage yard and I always figured someone stole a car with no wheels.
My Volkswagen van still operated without the entire left rear section including the wheel after it was ripped off by a drunk driver.
Chuck Barkley is jealous.

This reminds me of old Citroens that could run with only three wheels, due to their hydro-pneumatic suspension.

This here is Floriduh.
No limit to the stupidity nor the stupids.
Fail.

But they didn’t measure his blood alcohol. They measured his breath.
Never, EVER take a breathalizer test. Always require them to take the blood test.

Well, this is not as bad as that guy the police charged with carless driving.
Was the car with no wheels driven by the man with no name?
Joie Chitwood would call him a amateur...

I’m impressed you spelled amateur correctly.
LOL
Wife lost a left front in the center turn lane of a five lane highway.
Romeu displayed uneven balance
Auto imitates life.
I did?
Left turn lane? I thought that was the passing lane...
It’s a wonder she didn’t end up in oncoming traffic but she just pulled off the right side of the road.
