Democrats' Strategy Backfires As Limbaugh's Ratings Double

It wasn't supposed to happen this way.
The Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats have been pursuing a strategy of tying elected Republicans to Rush Limbaugh, concocted in hopes of painting Republican opposition to the Administration policy proposals as extremist. ...
The conservative radio host, and liberal scourge, reports that his ratings have nearly doubled since Democrats began their campaign to marginalize him. Revenues are up as well. ...
Things are so good for him right now, even the White House has to admit its attacks on Limbaugh are becoming "counter-productive." ...

POS socialist Obama and his buddies are driving millions more to Limbaugh, and Limbaugh - through his eloquence - can explain what Obama and the Obamabots are up to policy wise, and how Obama's socialist policies will destroy America.
Obama's Alinsky methods are indeed backfiring.

I say... never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel or has control of the EIB Golden Microphone. More than 20 million loyal fans are more than 20 million voters who (a) talk to other people and (b) won't be voting Democrat in 2010. This was a huge mistake by a very immature “president.”

Twice as many as before is a good start. Rush is now getting the conservative message out to twice as many people as before. Sweet!
I wonder why Keith Overbite, Chrissy Matthews, the NYT, WaPo, and CNN aren’t reporting this?

Not a chance with this power set-up. The RATS have been waiting decades for this opportunity.
I want someone to do the forensics to come up with what happened to the missing $500B in hours that drove GWB to sign TARP I. That will explain how the RATS engineering this calamity.

Zero (no pun intended) chance of that. They are who they are. The leopard doesn't change it's spots.
It does surprise me (happily) that this has worked against them. As clever as they are, you would think they would have seen this. I'll reserve judgement for a while, as to whether this is an unintended consequence, or part of a larger strategy to come down harder later, with a Fairness Doctrine - or worse.
At the very least, if this is an unintended consequence, the Obama War Room will just come up with a different strategy, a different tactic, a different scam. Whatever.
The reason the Left has been so successful against us, is because they never give up. They just regroup and try again. Let's not get complacent.

The best thing about electing a neophyte like Obama over an old hack like Hillary is that he will have no idea what he’s doing for a year or two. By then, God willing, he’ll be hamstrung his majorities in Congress will have evaporated.

It was an interesting ploy and I can see why the Dem PR flacks thought it might be a good idea - portray the Republican party as splintered and crown an unelected demagogue as its head and throw their enemies into confusion. The problem is that if it doesn't work - and it hasn't - then the appeal is only toward the few who will hate Rush and the Republicans regardless of any merit to the case - Obama's base, in effect. And they're already onboard.
In the meantime there are people who will listen who didn't before, and who will realize that (1) Rush isn't claiming leadership of anything, (2) he is a highly articulate and well-informed commentator, and (3) there are real conservatives out there on whose behalf Rush has a bully pulpit. The problem is that you can't both smear and marginalize someone - Sarah Palin, for example - and then do your best to promote someone who un-marginalizes her. It's one or the other. Can't have it both ways. And that's the signal characteristic of your classic arrogant, spoiled, loudmouth and doctrinaire Democrat - he always wants it both ways.

"Obama's Alinsky methods are indeed backfiring. "
I think that Alinsky's methods are not well suited for America. We're not a third world government who can't decide on what government dictator they want, and the American spirit is unequaled around the world. Now the yo-yo's in Washington, they are the enemy, I'm talking patriotic, grass roots Americans.
We've had a good, working government for over 200 years; the boldest and most efficient government in history. America would not sit well with totalitarian authority.
Even those who attened our liberal brainwashing centers (universitites) would not sit well if and when socialism/communism really took over. Even though they bitch and moan about the "system", the "establishment", the socio/commie style of government would take away enough of their American style of living, that even they would be balking.
We don't know how to NOT be free...and so far, we still have the 2nd Amendment to back it up.

I must admit I wasn't paying much attention to Rush, since I had long ago grasped all his theories, but now I'm completely glued to his work. The man is positively an oracle... a modern day Stentor.
(In Greek mythology, Stentor was a herald of the Greek forces during the Trojan War. His name has given rise to the adjective "stentorian", meaning loud-voiced, for which he was famous. Homer said his "voice was as powerful as hundred voices of other men")
Amen.

I have never listened to Rush, but I think the dems that bring up one a radio guy are really aiming in the wrong direction. If they had any sense it would be all about the real solutions on the economy and nothing about the LIBERAL agenda. That’d be a smart thing for them politically, and a smart thing for this country.
But what do I know!?

Exactly. I've encountered far too many of those cotton brained liberals who take their freedom for granted to such an extent that they cannot even begin to imagine what life would be like under one of the "ist" forms of government they so love to promote. I'd love to send them to live for a while in one of those systems.

If The Zero doesn't finally get a clue on how to solve the economic crisis he will be facing at least a very Republican House of Representatives in January 2011. How about dumping Secretary Gaithner and put a real adult in charge of the Department of the Treasury?

While I am not overly optimistic about the degree of reverence the majority of “my fellow Americans” have for freedom, I can almost agree with your point that “we” don't know how not to be free.
While the political socialist left has been busily building a vast constituency of undereducated, government dependent missfits and leeches...there exists a surprisingly large number of people,of all walks of society, who not only know the answer to “who is John Gault”, but also the coordinates of Gaults Gulch.
