“I also think that in Louisiana, David Vitter should leave politics. He could make good money as a spokesman for Depends.”

Tell it Louisiana freepers and you’re a “damn Yankee”. ;)

I hope he doesn’t go the way of Tim Hutchinson and fall to a “conservative” rat.

The Mayor of Houston I believe is the rat favorite.

Since KBH indicated she is getting in the governors race the major dems have switched to the Senate seat.....

from the Chronicle 12/17/08: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6168001.html

Mayor Bill White officially jumped into the increasingly crowded field of candidates vying for a U.S. Senate seat Tuesday, touting his grasp on energy issues and his experience running the nation’s fourth largest city.
end snip

The article list several on both sides that are looking at the Senate seat.

Question for Texas FReepers: Will Hutchison pose a serious challenge to Perry in the primary, and will this clown Schieffer (or any TX Dem) be a serious threat in the general.

It depends on whether Perry accomplishes anything in this spring's legislative session?

While I do not question Perry's (for the most part) conservatism, his ability to drive the legislative agenda pales in comparison to his predecessors.

Disclaimer: I am undecided between Perry and KBH for the above reason.
