One thing’s for sure, there will be no RINO running for president in 2012. We will need Reagan II (Sarah) more than ever. I hope the republican party has learned its lesson. It sure did learn it in 1980. If it’s Charlie Crist, I’m moving to Costa Rica. I could be open to various candidates. Hell, when we enter 2012 still deep in our new national malaise maybe even Charlie Crist will look good.

Honestly, what are Palin’s chances in general election?

A country run by a degenerate has no future either.

Sarah Palin is no Reagan. People need to get a grip. I actually hope Fred runs again, just to make it tougher for her to win. If he prepares better next time, he could actually pull it off. After 4 years of Obama, people aren’t going to be in the mood for another young, untested, inexperienced leader. They will want a grandfather with vigor. Someone who exudes old school reliability and trust. Fred could possibly play that role. Sarah needs more seasoning. Let her be energy sec. or something. There’s time. But she ain’t ready, and she sure as hell ain’t Reagan. Man, am I sick of people making that assenine comparison.

No, it really didn't. The party hierarchy did not like Reagan, didn't want Reagan, and never supported Reagan. Remember when Agnew went down as VP, they went with Gerald Ford. When Nixon went down, they went with Nelson Rockefeller for VP. In 1980, the party hierarchy did not want Reagan. The big money was on either George H. W. Bush or John Connally.

The party was upset that Reagan won the primaries, and attempted to foist Gerald Ford on him as a "co-President" to reign in Reagan's "dangerous tendencies." Reagan refused Ford, but accepted Bush. Bush modified many of his positions to suit Reagan, and developed the model of the current standard Republican politician; socially conservative, fiscally liberal.

The Republicans endured Reagan, and have done everything they can to ensure that another one doesn't rise.

Unfortunately, the Repos have not learned their lesson. In case you haven't noticed, the pre-ordained Repo class of warmed over puppets are ganging up with the Rats to trash Sarah at every opportunity.
