WASHINGTON, D.C.
A "socialist revolution" launched by President Obama will end in an electoral defeat for the Democrats in 2010, with the Republicans having a chance to regain a majority in the House of Representatives, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told WND.
"What Obama has done is an abomination," DeLay said in an interview at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, sponsored by the American Conservative Union.
"With the budget the administration rolled out to Congress this week,'" DeLay said, "it's clear President Obama does not understand economics and his goal is to advance a leftist agenda of massive spending, more social welfare entitlement programs, a huge expansion of government and increased taxes."

Won’t argue with the title.
Action, reaction. Thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Problem is that we never reduce the size of government after it expands. The best we’ve ever done since the New Deal is had the size of government reduce relative to the size of the economy (under Reagan and the Gingrich Congress). Maybe absolute government size decreased post-WWII under Eisenhower (I don’t know — does anyone here know?)
Conservatives have long been vitalized prior to Obama. But the GOP never noticed, or didn’t care.
Back in the 1990's, early 2000s, you could at least make a case that the bias was unintentional. The bias these days is just so absurdly pro-Obama, virulently anti-conservative Paris Hilton couldn't miss it.
Might even help get rid of some liberal RINOs
From the article:
“Entering the room to an extended standing ovation, Gingrich began by taking exception with Attorney General Eric Holder’s recent comment that the U.S. is a nation of cowards on the subject of race.
“I welcome an opportunity to have a discussion with you about cowardice anywhere, anytime, anyplace,” Gingrich challenged. “This is a nation courageous enough to not be ruled by people who won’t tell us the truth.
“If the attorney general thinks we are a nation of cowards, the Obama administration is just plain dumb.”
Gingrich is general chairman of American Solutions for Winning the Future, self-described as “a non-partisan organization designed to rise above traditional grid-locked partisanship to provide real, significant solutions to the most important issues facing our country.”
Gingrich, who considered running for president in 2008, called for a revival of the Reagan revolution, agreeing with DeLay in characterizing the Obama budget plan as “the boldest effort to create a European socialism we have ever seen.”
Gingrich ridiculed Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s performance on camera in the House chamber as Obama delivered his address to Congress earlier this week.
“Pelosi reacted hyperactively to Obama’s speech,” he said. “She was standing to applaud even before President Obama completed his sentences.”
Yep, it’s the GOP that needs the oxygen.
Well, the Newt-ster just has to take a deep breath and realize that he screwed the voters and his credibility forever. He is a great sound bite, but his role in leadership is GONE. He chose to be the immoral butthead and there will be consequences for that personal failure.
I was about to post the same thing. “Revitalizing” conservatives is one thing; Republicans are a totally different animal.
One thing’s for sure, there will be no RINO running for president in 2012. We will need Reagan II (Sarah) more than ever. I hope the republican party has learned its lesson. It sure did learn it in 1980. If it’s Charlie Crist, I’m moving to Costa Rica. I could be open to various candidates. Hell, when we enter 2012 still deep in our new national malaise maybe even Charlie Crist will look good.
Honestly, what are Palin’s chances in general election?
A country run by a degenerate has no future either.
You have delusions of adequacy.
Wait for it.
The Gingrich haters will be here any second that spout, “He was in a commercial about global warming with the Pelousi, so he’s wrong!”
-or-
“He divorced his wife... DIE, DIE, DIE!”
If you asked Sarah, I am sure she would tell you that she would rather run, with more Republicans in the House and in the Senate, than with fewer Republicans in the House and Senate.
Sarah can not do a darn thing, even if she wins, if you do not get over yourself and fight the enemy, instead of your allies.
The pendulum always swings...
Okay, you changed the focal point from Newt Gingrich to me. So what?
The Newt-ster should stick to writing and give up on the notion of a future leadership role. His time has passed and he helped accelerate that time-line.
One has to take a look at the “whole” enchilada when considering their blather.
It is pinheads like you that kept the RATS in power.
Saint Paul (former tax collector and kiss up to the Romans)
Saint Augustine (former whore monger)
Ronald Reagan (Divorced and remarried)
Shall I go on?
Get over yourself.
We are at war, and YOU are shooting in the wrong direction!
You are a hypocrite. Show a little loyalty and respect, and maybe you would get some in return. In the meantime, lets try to defeat liberals and quit trashing those who ALSO want to defeat liberals.
Sarah Palin is no Reagan. People need to get a grip. I actually hope Fred runs again, just to make it tougher for her to win. If he prepares better next time, he could actually pull it off. After 4 years of Obama, people aren’t going to be in the mood for another young, untested, inexperienced leader. They will want a grandfather with vigor. Someone who exudes old school reliability and trust. Fred could possibly play that role. Sarah needs more seasoning. Let her be energy sec. or something. There’s time. But she ain’t ready, and she sure as hell ain’t Reagan. Man, am I sick of people making that assenine comparison.
Gingrich has a LOT going for him. The socons simply will not accept him, so it’s a non-starter. But he should have SOME role. He’s a fantastic marketer. The Contract with America was bold and brilliant, and defied conventional wisdom. “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” is another brilliant marketing idea. He’s very smart, and hopefully will have a role in the GOP moving forward. He’s got mad skills. But he won’t be president.
Palin’s chances in 2012? Zip. Won’t matter much, the next Republican nominee will be Mitt Romney if he wants it, and if he doesn’t want it, you can bet it’s because the Republicans don’t have a shot at it...magritte
Fred Thompson will be 70 in 2012...he looked 70 in 2008, so he won’t have a shot...America is done with Old People becoming President for now...gotta have some new blood for 2016...magritte
How about Sheriff Joe ...
Rahm Emanuel has taken control of the census in order to prevent that.
The census and the 40 million illegals who will be voting.
Well, yer probably right about Fred. But I disagree about us needing a youth movement now. I think that’s exactly wrong for the top ticket. We need someone with vigor and the wisdom that comes with 50-50 laps around the sun. The rest of em, Palin, Jindal, Cantor, etc, belong in the minor leagues, right where they are.
revitalizing? he has actually helped finish my conversion.
Fred’s time is passed.
Yea, yer right. It actually passed sometime before the last primary season. The GOP field is a wasteland.
Fred didn’t seem to have his heart into running. If the Messiah is vulnerable in 2012, then maybe Gov. Haley Barbour of MS would do. Yes, he’s a Southern fried white elder. But he’s sharp witted and has experience in disaster recover. He projects am image of competence.
Gingrich has a LOT going for him. The socons simply will not accept him, so its a non-starter. But he should have SOME role. Hes a fantastic marketer. The Contract with America was bold and brilliant, and defied conventional wisdom. Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less is another brilliant marketing idea. Hes very smart, and hopefully will have a role in the GOP moving forward. Hes got mad skills. But he wont be president.

I agree. I am so damn sick and tired of these chicken sh*ts that are afraid to speak out. You won’t hear a real conservative praising zerO for 10 minutes then talking for 5 (Jindal). Newt is interesting to listen to. Drones don’t make people sit up, take notice and listen. Give me the Sarahs, Rudys, Newts, Freds, etc.
No, it really didn't. The party hierarchy did not like Reagan, didn't want Reagan, and never supported Reagan. Remember when Agnew went down as VP, they went with Gerald Ford. When Nixon went down, they went with Nelson Rockefeller for VP. In 1980, the party hierarchy did not want Reagan. The big money was on either George H. W. Bush or John Connally.
The party was upset that Reagan won the primaries, and attempted to foist Gerald Ford on him as a "co-President" to reign in Reagan's "dangerous tendencies." Reagan refused Ford, but accepted Bush. Bush modified many of his positions to suit Reagan, and developed the model of the current standard Republican politician; socially conservative, fiscally liberal.
The Republicans endured Reagan, and have done everything they can to ensure that another one doesn't rise.
Rahm Emanuel has taken control of the census in order to prevent that.
______________
Asw everyone sits back and lets them get away with it. Listen how you just accept it.
Hardly. I'm reminding and informing those who need that.
Exactly what are you doing to fight back?
I’ve been trying to catch the CPAC speeches. So far, Newt’s was the best speech by a mile. He’s the only one that doesn’t need to look at prepared text, and yet doesn’t ramble. He’s funny, logical. Man, he’s good.
Where is that defining moment in which the Newt-ster has stepped up to the plate and said, “Folks, I have made several bone-headed personal choices.” No, he just tucked his tail, left public office, and became a talking-head. Certainly, he has good-sounding words, but does he believe them?
I agree and these people who like Palin and want to run her in general election are just blowin in the wind. I like her, she is great as governor, but media will eat her alive sad to say.
Unfortunately, the Repos have not learned their lesson. In case you haven't noticed, the pre-ordained Repo class of warmed over puppets are ganging up with the Rats to trash Sarah at every opportunity.
What I can not get over is cowardly people who run in fear to embrace the one who is only raping a few rather than the one who is raping everyone. They all are enemies and need to be cleaned out like the trash they are.
Politics is about math.
If you declare EVERYONE to be your enemy, you will never have the numbers to change a damn thing.
The marxist media will "eat" ALL conservative nominees so why not run our best. Otherwise, you are allowing the media to choose our nominee....like mccainn.
Too late.
Government programs NEVER die and Obama is loading up the Federal Government with all sorts of new powers and programs. Conservatives will never be able to kill them.
That is very true, but the alternative of supporting the current group of puppets leading the GOP will not lead to acceptable change. They take our contributions and set up flim, flam fights and straw dummies for the Democrats to distract us, while the collective class of all politicians is leading us on a direct course to the Globalist agenda.
I am not convinced she is the best. She came into the campaign suddenly, so I would like to get a chance to take a look at what she has to offer when she prepares for the most important presidential race in my life. This next race will make the Gore/Bush look like a high school senior presidential race.
Michael STEELE/Sarah PALIN 2012
Michael STEELE/Sarah PALIN 2016
Sarah PALIN/?? 2020
