Despite the fact that he might have wished he had been the man who just finished his first address to a joint session of Congress as president, Sen. John McCain had kind words for President Obama's address this evening.
"The president gave a very effective speech," McCain told Katie Couric on CBSNews.com's presidential webcast following Mr. Obamas address. "His delivery and the theme of the speech was excellent."
Still, McCain said, "now I would like to know how we are going to implement it."
"I don't know where Social Security was, McCain said. I don't know how you increase all of these programs and still cut spending to a point where you cut the deficit in half.
Couric asked McCain if his former political rival "convinced him at all" to support his policies.
"He makes a compelling case that we need to work together and reform healthcare," the senator replied.
. . . . .
"I am proud of our campaign," McCain added.
Of his running mate Sarah Palin, McCain said: "I think she will continue to play a role in the Republican party and an important one." He said it was a little early to tell whether she will be the GOP nominee for president in 2012.

We should all be thankful to Senator McCain for his service to the country. It’s just that it should have ended decades ago.

McCain should have simply requested that someone point out a country in history that has ever taxed and spent its way into prosperity.
I's so easy, even a freakin cave man could do it but evidently our elected officials can't
I give up.

I’m getting sick of hearing every republican fall all over themselves talking about how great 0bama is, and how historic he is. Even Jindal devoted the first few minutes of his speech to this kind of crap. For me, that ruined his entire speech.

If Johnnie McInsane has become President, it would have been the death knell of theRepublican Party.
Without him, we havea good chance at a strong comeback against Zero. With him, no damned chance.
His wife would be a much better President.

McCain is a camera hog. And his history is he will do whatever it takes to keep himself in front of one. I wish he would take a permanent seat on Hissy Matthews lap and they can spit at each other in front of their idol. (A camera)
To: rabscuttle385
He is running for re-election in AZ. He is in stealth campaign mode right now. This time, his re-election will not be a cake walk. He needs to be put out to pasture. Hopefully, he will be defeated in the primary.
