Detainees being held at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan cannot use US courts to challenge their detention, the US says.
The justice department ruled that some 600 so-called enemy combatants at Bagram have no constitutional rights.
Most have been arrested in Afghanistan on suspicion of waging a terrorist war against the US.
The move has disappointed human rights lawyers who had hoped the Obama administration would take a different line to that of George W. Bush.

I wonder how libs/Dems/the MSM will try to spin this in Obama's favor. If Bush were president, they would take a different line in commenting on or reporting this.
These detainees aren't going anywhere for quite some time. Plenty of time to tell America what the Obama administration is up to.
BTW, I personally don't believe that these 600 being detained at Bagram deserve constitutional rights.

Foreign news is now the news of choice by most Americans because while we may get biased information, at least we get information.

The move has disappointed human rights lawyers who had hoped the Obama administration would take a different line to that of George W. Bush. Do they mean the same "human rights lawyers" who were foaming-at-the-mouth raging mad at W for "depriving" people of their "rights", will now just grumble and accept it as "disappointing" when BO is pres?

Agreed. The British press from the Telegraph onwards are the ones reporting the real news. The MSM are COMPLETELY in the tank for Dumbo.
I dont trust the BBC because they are ardent anti-US/Israel propagandists but it is surprising they even reported this.

I thought Constitutional rights were for U.S. Citizens only. How did the detainees get them?
