U.S. Sen. Roland Burris was interviewed by federal authorities for several hours Saturday as part of the ongoing corruption investigation into charges that former Gov. Rod Blagojevich tried to sell a Senate seat for personal or political profit, sources familiar with the talks said.
Burris' interview, which had been delayed for weeks, took place at his attorney's offices in downtown Chicago. He has been informed he is not a target of the probe, the sources said.
Burris acknowledged a week ago that federal investigators wanted to talk to him about the circumstances surrounding his appointment by Blagojevich, which occurred three weeks after the former governor was arrested on federal corruption charges.

Mayor Daley won’t call for Roland Burris to resign
###
The pressure may be mounting on U.S. Sen. Roland Burris to resign, but Mayor Richard Daley wasn’t going to be one to add to it today.
Lets put everything in perspective and give him an opportunity to explain himself,” Daley said today when asked if Burris should step down. “Automatically, every time something happens people want everybody to resign. Is it becoming very common now to tell people to resign after he was appointed?”
Daley gave Burris credit for voting for the federal economic stimulus package which the mayor said “never would have passed” without Burris’ vote.
(... talk about understatement .. )
Asked if he thought voters who wanted more transparency in government were disappointed in Burris, Daley said he thought people would eventually “move on with their lives.”
“Three people got killed [last night]. Do you think the people who killed them care who is their U.S. senator?” Daley said. “Life goes on.”
Sing, Blago.
Sing.
(after Fitz offers you a deal)
Americans wanted Chicago style politics in D.C. and they have Chicago style politics BIG TIME.
Only the Chicago folks seem upset that their dirty laundry is displayed in the national news.
Most of us are not surprised in the least.
Get rid of him if he lied and every other $inator who has lied to the Americans to get elected and to stay in office.
This line of reasoning would need to improve considerably to qualify even as sophistry. One could, after all, be pardoned for wondering just what these murderers' opinions on the question of who should be the junior senator from Illinois might have to do with...well, anything relevant.
I live near Chicago, and I think that Burris will probably finish this term. In 2010, who will replace him? I think the republican candidates will be Congressmen Kirk (my congressman) and Roskam. The Democrats will be Rep. Schakowsky and Attorney General Madigan. If so, who will run for those four seats?
I’m no fan of Burris or any democrat.
However, what did this poor guy do to deserve what he has gotten from the rats.
If lying is a cardinal sin, then every $inator should resign.
