Public Opinion Shifting , Americans Angry Over Porkulus Bill
melaniemorgan.com ^ | Feb 21, 2009 | By Melanie Morgan

In other words, the chickens are coming home to roost...and Republicans are just coming home. After flirting with bi-partisanship, and good wishes for America's first African-American President, the GOP is beginning to understand that the Democrats under Obama's leadership are bankrupting this country. And setting us up for decades of graft, corruption, and incompetent decision-makers.

The Washington Post details the new polling here.

"...A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll sheds some interesting light on this subject. The survey found that 53 percent of respondents thought that the stimulus would improve economic conditions, while 44 percent thought it wouldn't. Looking deeper, CNN's polling director says, "Nearly nine in 10 Democrats favored the plan, while three-quarters of Republicans thought it was a bad idea."

Seen in that light, maybe the congressional GOP's nearly complete opposition to the measure isn't so surprising; their constituents are overwhelmingly opposed to the bill. And the partisan split is also growing in opinions of Obama. The same CNN survey found that the president's approval rating among Republicans "dropped from 50 percent in early February to 31 percent now." (Democrats remain pleased with their man, giving him 92 percent approval). A Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll released yesterday showed a similar trend; over the last three weeks, Obama's approval rating went up 5 points among Democrats, and down 8 points among Republicans."

OK. Let us look at history.

Sure the Repubs might make a foothold in 2010/12(maybe President if lucky). Then what? Even if by chance they end up being true conservatives, they won't last long. "Senior's to eat dog food," "children to go homeless," "rich get richer," will be the hew and cry throughout the left establishment and they will be out on their you know what with the new election cycle.

Then socialism continues her course.

I believe it is going to have to be something greater than elections to stop the serfdom train.

Maybe we'll do better at stopping the "Nazis".

It don’t think going from “hope and change” to “it’s going to get worse” was a very good strategy for the Bari the Kenyan Team. I guess that is what you get when you put a mob of genital-pondering hippies in charge.

I am hoping that its someone like DeMint or Dick Shelby.

Even Tom deLay could be useful in strategizing , the dems were so scared of him that he was framed, with the help of RINOs of coourse.

We have plenty of good people if only they would step forward in time of our greatest need.

The Rinos have to stop playing as if this whole Obama movement was a joke.Snow and Collins shold rest in this infamy for not allowing the filbuster.

I think you're right. We'd be doing good to even get any true conservatives elected, after Hussein gets finished setting everything he needs in place by any means to ensure further rat gains in government. The marxists didn't get this far to just allow even minor setbacks to their agenda, not now when they're going full steam ahead. They won't allow another blip like George Bush, not even RINOs, to interfere. They've never had such a good chance at implementing marxism in this nation, with the enthusiastic support of a good percentage of the populace. We've reached the point where there are too many people who want something for nothing-at least for nothing from them, but something from the remaining citizens who have worked and honestly earned what they have. The parasites don't just want to get what's not theirs, they want to see it taken from those who earned it. Hussein is trying to ensure that there are more of those kinds of voters than there are voters who just want the heritage of freedom to make their own way according to their own merit. Entertainment, media, and education have contrived to conspire in creating such a people.

I detest Snowe, Collins and Spector, BUT I don’t think a fillibuster would have helped our cause. We think porkulus will fail miserably and if it does we hope people will wake up. The legislation was going to pass, maybe a fillibuster would have caused a few changes, but still a blueprint for socialism. A fillibuster would have given them more to blame the crisis on republican with. One year from now they would have say “things would have improved dramatically by now if republican wouldh’t have held legislation up.....

It won’t matter if his numbers tank if he manages to set everything in place to ensure that free and fair elections never again occur in this country. He will still get “more votes”. The marxists know that’s all that matters, while a fig leaf of democracy remains. One day even the fig leaf won’t be necessary.

The shortest honeymoon in history was Bush, who never had one.

Obama is still on his honeymoon, but he is so damn inept and such an empty suit, that him and his allies in the MSM cannot cover up his inexperience and incompetence from the public anymore.

>>”Senior’s to eat dog food,” “children to go homeless,” “rich get richer,” will be the hew and cry throughout the left establishment<<

And the proper response to this drivel is, “Shut the F up; come back when you have something intelligent to say.”

Instead of the mindless “To my good friend across the aisle” and “in the spirit of bi-partisanship”

Like I said before, When it’s a battle between the empty suit POTUS and those coming up for election he’ll be thrown under the bus faster than he’s raping the tax payers with excessive useless pork money.

I’m beginning to think that Jim Cramer is a complete idiot. How ever did he get his own show? He’s a clown and gives stupid advice. He’s extremely gullible when interviewing sources on his show. He’s no journalist, that’s for sure.
