GAS AND OIL PRODUCERS ARE GETTING A CASE OF INDIGESTION that no anti-acid can cure. They fear that President Obama will break his campaign promise to allow drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and the outer continental shelf, arguably jeopardizing U.S. energy security.
Few are prepared to call our president "Barack the Bamboozler." Most people still take him at his word, given in his acceptance speech in Denver last August, that offshore drilling, especially for natural gas, is an important part of his administration's overall plan for making the nation energy-independent. On Sept. 23, the truth will out.
...
Last September, Republicans and Democrats in Congress voted to lift a 27-year-old ban on drilling off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and in parts of the Gulf of Mexico. When he accepted his party's nomination at Denver's Invesco Field, Obama declared: "As president, I will tap our natural-gas reserves, invest in clean coal technology, and find ways to safely harness nuclear power."
...
But on Feb. 10, Obama's Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar, announced that he is de-accelerating the process by 180 days, to Sept. 23, to allow more public input and to give his department more time to review the latest data on U.S. offshore reserves. Salazar is a proponent of increased production, if the drilling is done in an environmentally sensitive manner. He called the Bush plan to open 300 million acres for leasing by March 23 as "a headlong rush of the worst kind."
...
[I]f Salazar decides to delay the offshore program again on Sept. 23, it would amount to defacto reinstatement of the drilling ban.

I have been reading William Tucker's recent book "Terrestrial Energy", which looks at various energy sources and concludes that nuclear energy needs to be a bigger part of the mix for both environmental and economic reasons. Nuclear energy is already a mature technology that is being "safely harnessed", but if its use were expanded in the U.S. and there were more drilling for oil and natural gas, Obama would have to admit his renewable energy plan is a boondoggle. The arrogant SOB would never do that.
This was not to get the economy back, it was to install a crippling agenda and put a saddle on, and a bit in the mouth of, the Capitalist system.
A close friend of mine raised the asshole decisions by zero and how it didn't look like there was going to that tremendous flood of union jobs .. to his union foreman was told .. "We never wanted the ******, Biden's our guy"
Take that for whatever it's worth, if anything.
I don't think any new drilling will happen, rather ... existing gas wells will be fracked, employing laborere to replace existing pipe lines with high pressure lines.
Maybe the shale oil will be developed, but I think the anti oil people need to be paid off, so no new oil wells ... the controversy will be dominated by the destroy Palin crowd ... keeping Alaska sort of on the frontal lobes, subliminally lulling people into thinking the subject is drilling ... but it's not.
Biden's our guy?
Stay tuned.
They want $20 a gallon gasoline, with half to the state.
He and Pelosi seem to want to turn the whole country into California.
He has already demonstrated his nationalist socialist ideology and his Utopian agenda.
And he has all the funding he needs now to ruin the US economy and socializeUrban Society.
We will have 4 years of hell , and then maybe we won't be able to get rid of him.
Oil exploration companies will soon begin leaving the USA, which is just what Obama wants to accomplish.
Oil explorationn in the USA and offshore as we know it, is now at an end.
There are two reasons for this:
a) Alternative energy
b) assuring a continuing high price oil market for Obamas Arab Islamic friends.
And Obama is already pressuring Canada already to marginalize its tar sands, for "environmental reasons" and he has smilingly rattled the NAFTA sword. He means to marginalize Canada's oil inductry for his Arab friends.
Anyone who owns stock in US Oil exploration companies should sell it and go elsewhere to companies like Talisman and Husky Oil, both out of Canada.
This will not be allowed to develop.
Was not under Pres. Bush. Will NEVER be allowed under Pres. Obama.
The coverup in the US Patent Office will continue.
New technologies will be moved with stealth to China and US enemies.
Why not just call the POC what he really is? Barack Hussein Obama, the LIAR.
Using terms like "bamboozler" greatly diminishes exactly what he did during the campaign, IMO. He may have 'bamboozled' some people, but the rest of us saw him for the lying POC that he really is.
This country will not be around in four years at the rate he and his other frauds are going.
So that the MSM can still continue to fool 60% of America.
But that suit of clothes will wear out, and soon the pretend president will have no clothes. That is when things will get very rough inndeed.
My bet is 6 months or less.
Thankfully not quite enough time to solidify his thugs into Acorn.
It is causing market disaster and energy uncertainty will cause price problems as well.
Uncertainty is a sign of on the job training.
The payoff for government (real objective of all dems and many repubs) is not environmental concerns, but nationalization of oil. When they have driven energy supply down and cost up to the point that the public will submit, they will nationalize energy production and divert revenues to government while metering supply to manipulate citizens.
See Venezuela today. Chavez nationalized oil, sells 87% on world market with all flowing to government, gives away 13% @ 14 cents per gal (regular).
Despite brutal trampling of rights, Central bank interest rate 28.5%, Prime lending rate 17.11% and inflation rate of 31%, Chavez just got landslide approval of “dictator for life” removal of term limits for himself.
More than 1,008,200 americans have died in battle to preserve freedom and we are facing seeing our generation throw it away for a chance to live like europeans, have health care like Canadians, and gas prices like Venezuelans.
If the minutemen had known what we would become they would have marched to Boston to shine General Gages boots and empty his chamber pot instead of marching to Concord bridge.
Well, at least we have battery power for an hour or so.
