COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The head of the Colorado Springs NAACP is crying foul after a picture of President Barack Obama was removed from a sign at the Peterson Air Force Base commissary.
The picture accompanied a sign near the entrance saying the government-run military grocery store would be closed on Presidents Day.
The Defense Commissary Agency, which oversees the store, says employees took it down after customers complained that the holiday is about presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, not Obama.
Rosemary Harris, president of the Colorado Springs branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, says the commissary's decision "bodes poorly for the progress that we hoped we would see in this country."

It’s President’s day in celebration of all the Presidents. If that is the case then ALL of the President’s pictures should be there as well. If not all...then none. Makes sense.
This would be rational only if last year’s sign had a picture of President Bush on it.

By it’s very name, the NAACP is for the Advancement of colored people over other races. Ergo, it IS a racist organization.
Except Washington, who it is obviously meant to honor, and possibly Lincoln.
Reminds me of a movie where the crowd all had little Nazi flags at a parade,

First of all, it is a LIE that past President Day's featured pictures of GW Bush, or any other President.
I have shopped at Commissaries in the states and overseas for 25 years, and the DCA (Defense Commissary Agency) has NEVER displayed the current President's picture.
Secondly, it used to be "Washington's Birthday" until the 1990's.
Third - for some Blacks, race = Über Alles. That is THEIR shame. God will judge them for that.
I was present at a US Military installation during the inauguration. A group of black soldiers ran hung color pictures of Obama there, and sent an e-mail that the main auditorium (which held about 400) would have it live on the main screen. I asked if they did this for Bush in 2004 - to which the secretary to me "No way."

If they do not like it we need to start up the NAAWP and fast. It is going to be very important in the near future.

Well, the history is that we used to have Washington’s Birthday and Lincoln’s Birthday—two holidays for the two greatest presidents, as people used to think of them.
Then the revisionists changed it to “Presidents Day.” It’s still presumably in honor of Washington and Lincoln, but they are no longer named. They don’t really want little kids to know too much about the history of their country. Also, Lincoln was a Republican.
No doubt those who changed it hoped that people would think it was also about celebrating FDR and JFK or something.
This wasn’t accidental; it was deliberate and Orwellian.
That was “Red Dawn”. Flags were Soviet, and it was a Soviet - or Cuban - officer.
The NAACP does more damage to the cause of black folks than the KKK.

I always thought that President’s Day was to honor Presidents who are no longer breathing. Since Hussein fits in the category that can still spew uhs, ahs, umms, ers, I don’t think today is his day.
The North had a much larger population during the War Between the States. They had and still have a much larger source of cannon fodder.

The holiday is Washington’s Birthday. Nixon made the mistake of calling it “Presidents’ Day,” presumably trying to include Lincoln, but there had never been a national holiday in honor of Lincoln. That allowed it to morph into a celebration of all the Presidents, or at least of the ones the liberals like.
Just imagine the reaction if the Commissary folks had slapped their foreheads and said, “Damn!! The witch-doctor is right!! Today we should celebrate a good man who became President of the United States,” and then replaced Obama’s pic with a nice color portrait of President George W. Bush....
Those "customers" are Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines, both Active Duty and retired. Most of us that fought for other people's righta and justice aren't likely to keep quite when ours are infringed.
Oh, and as for you Mssssssssssssssss NAACP: Up Yours!

In regard to your opinion of the Peterson situation ... If President's Day at Peterson Commisary always included a photo of the current President in any advertising, it should do so with this President as well. We exist to insure equality across the board in American life.

Let’s just get it over with and declare February BLACK month. No pictures or celebrations of anything white can occur during February. All cupids shall be black and the valentines heart will be black. We will have a black groundhog.

The fact that we still have a congressional BLACK caucus and Affirmative Action lends credibility that Obama’s administration is racist.
His first act should have been to suspend AA and dismiss the BCC. Instead, he helped the attorneys and hurt businesses. Keep this in mind, it’s going to get worse.
If all agricultural areas withheld food supplies this could be over in a few weeks. Dittos with gas, water, etc. Before they knew what hit them, they would be out of gas and low on fuel and water. With their populations no local countryside could support them. Would be even worse if we were to scorch the earth before them.
Well, it’s a day off anyway. :)
The only thing in common is, the the day is for Presidents who are dead.
