I’m glad the House GOP held to its principals. First time in quite a while I’ve been happy with them.

Good. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Maybe the Republicans have finally grown some balls.

OF COURSE, this will be spun as, “I don’t know why the ‘Pubs didn’t support it, we had “tax cuts” in the bill.”
It’s just...ARGH!!!

I hear Pelosi is off to see the wizard.

The RINOs prone to flipping showed their stripes though. Keep an eye on them.
To: SueRae
When you add up the entire Congress, more Democrats voted against it than Republicans voted for it.
7 Dems in the House voted “no.”
3 Pubbies in the Senate will vote “yes.”

How many Democrats voted against it?
To: twigs
So like the first one, it was bipartisan opposition and the support was strictly partisan.

Fabulous - I heard her yesterday claim that there would be 20-30 GOP votes this time.
She couldn’t even rein in her rebel Dems.

To: SueRae
There was never any doubt this would pass in the House was there? Our only chance there was to stop the vote itself. Failing in that it was a foregone conclusion that it would pass handily.
The Senate is a different story. It's very close there and without a couple of Republicans sell-out’s it can't pass.

Nevermind.
To: SueRae
A small bright spot - at least the GOP seems to be getting its act together.

Right. Why is it that the Repubs show some brass only when they are in the minority, though? Frustrating.

Contact your Republican Congressman/woman and THANK them!!!!I suppose everyone needed an "atta girl/boy" for a good job but honestly my first thought was "for what? Doing their job?"
To: abishai
I agree and had the same thought. It’s easy to vote against this when you know it’s going to pass. Wonder how they would have voted if their votes were needed by the dems?

The road to 2010 has begun! If, no, strike that ... WHEN this all fails BO can always blame Bush.

“This fulfills the promise of issues they’ve been working on for years.”
See even Pelosi admits that this is a spending bill not a stimulus bill.
To: Only1choice____Freedom
That means it passes with monopartisan support.
No if anyone on the right knew how to spin a news story it would be that it was rammed through despite bipartisan opposition.
