My mom (born 1952) talks of playing outside all day and riding her bike around her town.
“And whats even scarier is an attack on free speech. How can we solve any problems [including healthcare] if we are silenced? Breaking the law would be the only solution left, but how long before were locked up piecemeal?”
I don’t think they’ll have much success in trying to silence us. There are too many people with too much technology to make enforceable serious restrictions of free speech.

A deep thought worth considering.
Technology on the high end will grow faster than personal PC technology if our freedoms and prosperity are hindered. Red China is now learning how to allow massive amounts of controlled information to flow to its people. It might ultimately fail, but only if we remain the wellspring of freedom in technology and advancement.
Here’s an example in history: the Middle Ages. Knights managed to gain technologically while peasants did not have much means to. The imbalance lasted for centuries in most of Europe. Thank God England was a wellspring of balance through the longbow. But even in England, the imbalance was quite high for centuries.
Right now, PCs are like modern day longbows or Kentucky long rifles. But a new imbalance in freedom and prosperity could hamstring us.
Please don’t get me wrong though — I do think we will ultimately triumph. How, I’m not certain. But my interpretation of Revelation [in profile] lays out that we will survive this attack on freedom.
I had heard that Oregon is already putting monitoring devices in every car to tax the number of miles each car drives. A GPS system in every car? A healthcare card for every person is possible too. Another danger is Admiral Poindexter’s plan for Total Informaton Awareness [if my memory is correct]. There are also now tiny spy drones the size of bugs. Advanced encryption is illegal. And as for our alleged gun rights, they keep getting chiselled away incrementally.
So, my FRiend, it’s not clear cut to me that we are growing fast enough technologically as individuals to keep ahead of a totalitarian government.
On the political front, a flood of illegal aliens could be given the right to vote overnight. Dual citizenship voters bussed in from south of the border every election.
We will win. How? I don’t know.
