I served in the Military and sometimes a butt chewing is a dang good way to motivate. Maybe, to much PC has been a problem and this needed to be said.

Yes a good butt chewing sometimes works but was this the right way? I’ve been a member of a unit before where I did the right thing but ended up being chewed out as a group because a few members sucked. I understand the military aspect of winning or losing as a group but to be honest I tune guys like this out long before they’re finished.

Also, right message, completely wrong way to present it. That officer conducted himself absolutely unlike a professional. Oh, it's a tough job? I guarantee that they still tell anyone coming into West Point or one of the ROTC programs that leadership is still hard and still taxing. Shame that he had to resort to a tantrum in front of these forces.

I think it all depends on the people or person and the situation. Sometimes, you may have exhausted all possibilities and the next step is a boot in the ass. Some people tell me that you can not solve all the worlds problems by putting a boot in the ass. I beg to differ. I have had my butt kicked and I have kicked a little too. And in both cases, it has always worked. I think you try and talk, but when you are sure that it is not going to work, then bust out the boot.

I also see it like this: When we defeated the Germans in WWII, the alleys defeated the German Military, not the ideology of Nazism. Nazis are still around today and in this Country. When we defeated Japan, we dropped two big bombs that said Emperor Hirohito is not a God. The Japanese asked what is baseball, apple pie, and the American way? And I think the same could happen with fighting the evil that we fight. Bust out the boot and then ask who's God do you believe in now? I honestly think the boot will work. And I played football before and I know that you want to hit the other guy before he hits you.

That is just my opinion and I sure could be wrong, but I think I am right. And remember that Genghis Khan, General Patton, and Bobby Knight are a few of my heroes.
