NEW YORK - One of Iraq's first heavy metal bands has been reunited in the United States after fleeing their homeland as refugees.
Members of Acrassicauda faced death threats in Iraq for playing Western rock music and went into hiding before spending two years exiled in Syria and Turkey.
Named after a type of scorpion, Acrassicauda began writing and playing heavy metal in 2001 after being inspired by bands including Metallica and Slayer.

No offense to them, but their music makes Persian rap look good (and Iranian rap is notoriously bad...)

Hopefully they are much less drama queens than Lars and Hetfield. I watched a documentary of them making St Anger and it was sad.
Talk about loons! It was embarrassing
To: DainBramage
Mortally embarrassing. They should drop off the face of the earth.

I kept thinking how the bass player left at just the right time.
To: DainBramage

Yep The Black Album was a high bar and they had tons of trouble making it.
What self repecting hard rocker would go through therapy on camera then let the world actually see it!

Metalarchives is good for band information but the forums are too DUish for me. I quit posting there in 05.

Metalarchives is good for band information but the forums are too DUish for me. I quit posting there in 05.I've been on the forums for a couple of months now and have only seen scant representation from The Left. People there seem to be more libertarian than the general population. Being dependent on government is not considered "metal". I've been mostly on Viking and folk-metal threads picking up band recommendations to check out.
