Frustrated Senate Democratic leaders dispensed with calls for bipartisanship on the stimulus package Thursday, with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid saying that he won't let anyone "hold the president of the United States hostage."
President Barack Obama had once hoped to have the package pass with substantial Republican support. But Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said that's now a “distant memory."
"So far," he said, bipartisanship "isn't working."
But in an interview with Politico, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that the Democrats - not the Republicans - have made a mockery of bipartisanship.
“Senators are in a panic – this bill is stinking up the place,” Graham said – then accused Obama of being “AWOL” in the stimulus discussions.

This gigantic pork bill is a world record for deficit spending, consists exclusively of wasteful liberal spending, and the liberals are complaining that they can't get "bipartisan" support? They are even more stupid than I thought. The bill could get bipartisan support if they chopped it down to reasonable tax cuts, plus maybe a couple billion dollars in carefully-targeted spending. I'd like it better with no new spending, but that's a bipartisan gesture. What they want is absolute submission, and they're crying because they can't get that, not even from McCain (so far).
They want the GOP to go for it to give them cover. Period.
They should be cutting spending and cutting taxes. Now that’s a stimulus.

Thats right Obama and the boys are going on retreat to Williamsburg Obama is flying down in the luxurious Air Force One on a trip that the Presidential Helicopter copuld easilt make in an hour, all the Dems are taking a special chartered Amtrak train down, that way no one gets a DUI on the way down. Any business they do in Williamsburg could easily be dine right in Washington.

You really have to laugh at these attempts to get Republican suckers to sign up to these excrement they are trying to pass. And it’s funny because they are trying to act as if they need Republican votes with this thing when they don’t want to draw attention to their disastrous control of all branches of gov’t and who the people can ‘thank’ when the effects of their policies hits home. Why should they care if they get “bi-partisan” support for The Great Taxpayer Heist from Republicans? After all, as Hussein said “I won”. Let him lead the ‘rats in passing the theft against the wishes of millions of fed-up Americans, it’s good to be king.
