NEW YORK – On buttons, posters and Web sites, the image was everywhere during last year's presidential campaign: A pensive Barack Obama looking upward, as if to the future, splashed in a Warholesque red, white and blue and underlined with the caption HOPE.

Obama has written Fairey that he admires "the political messages involved in your work."
The political messages in Fairey's art are:
1) Communist dictators are god-like supermen
2) The United States is a police state at home and an imperialist oppressor abroad
3) Capitalism is an evil system based on greed and exploitation
4) Ordinary Amerikkkan workers are guilty of blithely supporting an unjust system
5) The only good Americans are those who fight The System
6) The communist Peoples' Armies will soon triumph over Amerikkkan imperialism and bring peace to the world out of the barrel of a gun.
This 'artist' has idolized communist dictators/mass murderers like Mao, Lenin and Stalin. And also revolutionary communists/terrorists like Angela Davis. These are not simply "socialists".

That picture was around for at least a year before the election. AP waits until now to object? Silence is consent. They have no case, especially since their own propaganda did 10 times more to elect Obama than Fairey’s work did.
