A Bank of England summit held to tell women what to wear has been condemned as sexist

As Britain plunges into its worst recession for 70 years, the economic superbrains at the Bank of England have been asking some searching questions.

But while the vital issues of interest rates and bank bail-outs may have exercised the minds of many financial high-fliers, others have found time to turn their thoughts to an even more pressing agenda.

Like ‘should I wear high heels?’ or ‘just how much make-up is too much?’

Yesterday, it was revealed that female Bank of England economists attended a socalled ‘Dress for Success’ summit at their City headquarters where they were lectured on what exactly they should wear to the office.

Image consultants told female staff that lipstick and high heels are essential for success.

It is customary for businesses in the UK, i.e. banks, ect., to wear assigned uniforms (kind of like air hostesses). I guess lipstick and shoes is ‘all they got’.

Its never worked, thank goodness. I respect British women a lot more than I do the gurly men in government over there.
