Is it Still Patriortic to Pay Your Taxes?? Ask a Democrat.

With the recent revelation that Cabinet contender Tom Daschal has a tax problem can we see a trend? If Paying Taxes are only for patriotic people, then we have a huge problem in our government. And the problem isn't going away soon. Are these examples of government gone bad too big to fail?

We have Charlie Rangel, New York congressman with his tax evasion problem. Nazi Pelousey was going to get to the bottom of his investigation "very soon" last year. Timothy Geithner, the Treasury Secretary "too important to lose during this financial crisis", can't do his own taxes correctly. His failure to pay penalty and tax bill was cut in half thanks to the statute of limitations. Senator Dodd is under "investigation" about tax irregularities related to favorable loans from taxpayer supported Fanny and Freddy. Not only did Dodd get a sweetheart deal, but the CEO's of Fanny and Freddy walked out with huge bonuses comparable to Obama's Wall Street CEO abuses. Obama thanks them for their contributions and "advice" to his campaign. And now we enter Tom Daschal. Former Democrat Senate Majority Leader and nominee for another Obama Cabinet, disclosing he owes back taxes and penalties.

We are entering a New Year and a new tax season. All of us "Patriotic Americans" are soon to line up and spend $Billions of dollars to be in compliance with the tax codes. Yet our government "leaders" seem to have a different tax standard. One would think that these people make enough money that they would gladly pony up and spread their wealth like a good Obamamite. After all, they have enough money to pay the best tax preparers in the business to make sure their taxes are an example of perfection for the American taxpayer.

Pony UP Democrats. Or step aside. There is NO EXCUSE for not properly reporting your income taxes.

While I can’t agree with nominating a crook, I also can’t call paying taxes patriotic. This country was founded based on tax revolt so rolling over to the tax man is not patriotic.

Only suckers pay taxes. The left loves to tell people that paying taxes is the duty, but when they have to pay, they find more places to hide cash than anyone else.
They are rectums.

Rules only apply to people with values.

Those with values are constantly held to account by people who have NONE!

People who have no values have nothing to be held to account for....and they consistently live up to those standards.

Paying taxes has nothing to do with being patriotic. Most of it is spent on entitlement programs. Now, if my taxes only went to the military and the defense of the country, here and abroad, then I would call it patriotic.

As it is, it's robbery. Or worse, extortion. You pay up, or they take all your stuff and throw you in jail.

There’s nothing patriotic about paying taxes - especially when you know your tax dollars are going to go to those perfectly able to work but they choose not to do so. They still get to vote and they’re the ones we mostly have to thank for ZerO. My vote meant nothing, why should I give them money to pay for their vote? If my vote was meaningless then ZerO shouldn’t need my meaningless few dollars either. After all, fair is fair. Isn’t it?

Joe Biden should be calling out all these unpatriotic cheats, but laws naturally do not matter to Demonrats as they all rely on their culture of corruption as you so point out. It is about time the GOP keep up the criticism of this behavior and bring it up everytime in talking of their party and what they mean. Demonrats cannot be tolerated when people learn what they do which far surpasses the mostly manufactured scandals of Republicans. The outrage needs to be brought on them now that they are leading this country to disaster.

Shoot, I think it would be fantastic if just once we could get a majority of people to revolt, to flat out refuse to file one year.

What are they going to do, arrest us all? The taxes in this country are offensive, especially if you are self employed and/or successful.

Long ago, Americans revolted over the King trying to tax tea. Now we just roll over and give them whatever they demand. It is a disgrace.

I know. That was a strange ironic remark for V.P. Biden,(then Senator) to make! It seems to me that taxes were one of the biggest issues with the colonial rebels even before the revolution. In fact, one of the chief issues underlying the war for independence itself!

Amazing. Liberals can't use words correctly, which eventually means they can't think.

I think we need to stage something like the Boston Tea Party...and I am dead serious. I dwell on it everyday. The early Patriots of this country were willing to do it, what has happened to us? It has truly become “taxation without representation” in this country. Those making decisions in Washington are so out of touch with the common man, there is no longer representation for us. Anyone have any ideas? I am willing to put the work in!

Soon, only Republicans will be paying taxes! A majority of blacks pay no income taxes today. You have a situation where one segment of society is directly voting itself money from the other. 97% of blacks vote for the black president who promises to do all sorts of things for them. Of course these promises are couched in universalist language. It is "for the middle class" "for the poor" "for the under-represented" for people who "are just trying to make ends meet". But the net effect will be a huge transfer of money from white poeple to black people.

It is a milder version of what has happened in South Africa and Zimbabwe. In both those cases the transition to black rule was actively aided and abetted by liberal whites. Many now understand what a big mistake they made. But it's too late.

Soon conservatives will have to toughen up. Defunding the illegitimate government racial redistribution machinery (including the forced affirmative action mandates effecting all business in the USA) is a more imperative as well as a political requirement.

I just started watching “John Adams” last night. I implore all Freeper Patriots - if you haven’t seen this series, rent it now! or go to your library and check it out. It is amazing and right on point about our Taxation without Representation going on today, as well as Freedom, and rule of law not MOBs.

So what do we do? I have no choice throughout the year- my employer takes the taxes out automatically. If we owe more than we paid in, Just Say NO to paying any more??? That’s what I want to do. I think that I am ready to play this one out all the way. Take my house - it is unsellable here in Battle Creek Michigan. Take my 10 year old car - I just had an accident spinning out on some ice. Take my job - I am sick of it any way (it’s in a hospital that is worrying way too much about “social justice” and “community benefit”).

That little $600 check I got last year for the other Stimulus: Because I do pay taxes, that was just an “advance” if I am due any refund. So, I paid double for the 50% who pay absolutely no income taxes. What’s been going on for the past 20 years is least as bad as what King George ever did.

You can start immediately, simply stop making enough money for them to tax. Trade for your services. Get out of the economy as much as possible. Rent instead of owning. Take all the goodies the government is giving out, dont ask for them, just accept them. Stop funding this crap with your productive effort and eventually it’ll all collapse on itself.

”Democrats can do anything they want, since they won the election."

Isn’t that the truth! While thousands of Americans in Kentucky are suffering and many are dying as a result of the ice storms what is our newly anointed savior doing today? He’s throwing a frick’n Super Bowl party!

I wonder how our ‘free and robust’ press will report on this ‘Katrina-like’ disaster and our so-called president’s response to it? Holding breath…

I agree, and I do too.

what has happened to us?

Americans are lazy and brainwashed. The majority would certainly not object to others making a stand, especially if they benefited from it. But they are not willing to work for it, or take any risks, especially when we have seen the government use force on those before us who have dared to take a stand against taxes.

The only way it would work is if there was a massive revolt, against which the government could do nothing short of mass murder, which of course they would not do. I don't think.

Race doesn't matter. It has been estimated that at least 40% of the population gets some sort of government money. Entitlement programs are not the fault of black people, or any other race for that matter. It is the fault of all those who accept public money in any form, and of those who provide it in an attempt to gain, and retain, power.

And actually, if you want to lay the responsibility at anyone's feet, it would have to be white people for putting the programs in place.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Thomas Jefferson

Another quote;

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage.

I think we need to stage something like the Boston Tea Party...and I am dead serious.

RB, I've been saying for months around here that we need to mount a nationwide tax revolt.

Short of armed rebellion, how else can The People strike an effective blow against the real and encroaching tyranny growing within the federal government?

In my opinion, if just ten million Americans commit to cease giving extortion payments to the government, we can nearly bring Washington to its knees.

I'm not interested in overthrowing our government. I want what the original colonist tax protesters wanted when they threw all that British tea in Boston Harbor: representation and a government that actually serves The People.

It'll take no less than ten million Americans revolting simultaneously, to actually do this. There needs to be a place where people who agree to do this can go and anonymously sign their X on the line.

When the number reaches ten million, the word is given, and all ten million stop paying tribute to the Socialist usurpers simultaneously.

The gov't may be large, but it's not large enough to prosecute ten million tax resisters. The safety for each individual is in the numbers. And, if ten million participate, millions more will jump on board, as well.

Talk to me.

I think it would be fantastic if just once we could get a majority of people to revolt, to flat out refuse to file one year.

We can, Teeny. It'll take a little organization, and we'll have to put up a website that's untraceable, where people can anonymously sign their X on the line to participate in the revolt.

The way to make it work, is to only begin the revolt once we've reached ten million people committed to do this. If people see that ten million of their neighbors are with them, they'll have the courage to actually stop paying money into the extortion racket that is Washington.

I'm asking for help from anyone with the technical know-how to put the website together.
