Well, that didn't take long.
Hillary Clinton's former research director dished up a nasty hit-piece memo on Michael Steele hours after he was elected the GOP's first black RNC Chairman.
He cites shaky resources like Think Progress, a blog for the lefty Center for American Progress for his research. This would be like me linking to comments on FreeRepublic to back up my facts.
Steele's clearly got the Dems scared.
And, I wonder why Hillary's old research man had oppo sitting around on Steele...?
Here's a sampling of some of the disgusting comments already being posted on the Huffington Post regarding Steele's race and new status in the GOP:
I guess the GOP tried to pull a McCain (pandering to women with Palin as his running mate) by trying to pander to the African-American community and possibly other minorities.
How nice for them, they managed to find a African American in their party. I guess they think this is their "Teflon" against Obama now LOL, LOL. "We can say all the racists stuff we want now" we're covered!
Expect a lot more talk like this from the Left. I'd also expect Steele to FIRMLY put them in their place in some of his early interviews.
The Democratic Party “ATTACK MACHINE” is now kicking in gear.
A hit piece on Michael Steele???
She’s a RACIST!!!!!!
She’s a RACIST!!!!!!
What else is knew, I was surprised it took them that long to do it.
Sweet Amanda of course meant to say, "This would be like me linking to comments on FreeRepublic to back up my facts. Although, jla has always intrigued, as well as inspired, me."
Now, to allay any apprehensions the rest of you may have over Amanda's comment, I believe all she is wanting to convey is that a political website, any political website, should not be used as a source when one wishes to relate facts of another person. As those 'facts' may be skewed on account of political bias.
Right, Amanda?
Stay classy, Dems.
They were distracted a bit by trying to 'cover' for Geithner, Daschle and Rangel--
who, btw, are my first three nominees for a Task Force on IRS tax reform...lol
“a blog for the lefty Center for American Progress”
Leftists have an Orwellian gift for language.
They will Bork this fine person and conservative for as long as they fear her.
I find comments like that from the left to be maddening and hilarious at the same time.
It’s so far off target. It either displays a lack of understanding or a full blown attempt to deceive.
My focus and the focus of those I talked to about Steele, was directly related to his views, stands on the issues, and what his plans for the RNC would be. We didn’t discuss race. We talked about him and the other candidates, and whose views would be the most solid to lead the RNC.
I have admired Steele for a while now. When I have seen him on FoxNews, I have liked his demeanor, his points of view, and his ability to think on his feet. Yesterday I found that I may not have known all I should have about Steele. I will be watching him more closely in the future because of his views, but I certainly won’t be watching him closer because of his race.
Isn’t it racist to back a man simply based on race? When issues came up regarding Obama, the left dismissed them and called people racist. Obama should have been subject to open discussion on a number of issues, but the left didn’t want to be confronted with those matters. He was black. “Do you realize what his candidacy means for America? Do you realize it will be a new era? Do you understand he is, “The One”? The left went stark raving mad, avoiding even the pretense of giving Obama a critical look, before voting for him. Now that is what I call racism.
So who are the real racists? Who are the real misogynists? When it comes to Steele and Palin, there’s one party that has gone postal, while the other has ignored color of skin or gender, because they valued the person.
The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves.
Of course they are expected to hit back hard when afraid..they were afraid of Palin and so the concentration on her over McCain. Have always liked Steele!! He is smart ! eloguent !and can handle his own!!
Finally a leadership we can stand behind. He will pick a team that could change the course of the Republican Party.
They will accuse the Republican pary of "window dressing"..but in reality they know Steele is a real threat especially when things keep going wrong under Obamas choice of his team players-corruption with taxes and nanny issues..Obama has to spend his time cleaning up on Aisle 1..2...4..5..not a good Zen time under which to "perform" his duties. And it will get worse when people see who will really benefit under the stimulus package.
I love the racist tag coming from the libs who labelled Steele an oreo when he was running against a white man for the US Senate.
Who cares what the RATS say. If Steele keeps his head and steers us back to conservative principals we might have chance. He needs to actively help on kinking the RINOs out and put resources on conservative Republican up for election.
Sarah Palin appeared to be the only thoroughbred in a field of nags. (OK, make that champion quarterhorse in a field of plugs. I once owned a splendid quarterhorse).
Sarah appears to be holding up well against the onslaught.
(we should have rules for her, like we do for Ann)
an ACarp thread and no pics yet?
thanks :)
Hey Hillary, why not investigate the bulk of Obama’s picks for various positions, and yourself. That’d keep an investigator busy for a long time.
