Voter ID Was a Success in November
The Wall Street Journal ^ | JANUARY 30, 2009 | HANS VON SPAKOVSKY

. . . According to the left, voter ID was a dastardly Republican plot to prevent Democrats from winning elections by suppressing the votes of minorities, particularly African-Americans.

. . . numerous academic studies show that voter ID had no effect on the turnout of voters in prior elections. The plaintiffs in every unsuccessful lawsuit filed against such state requirements could not produce a single individual who didn't either already have an ID or couldn't easily get one.

The two states with the strictest voter ID requirements are Indiana and Georgia. Both require a government-issued photo ID . . .

The overall turnout in Georgia increased 6.7 percentage points from the 2004 election -- the second highest increase in turnout of any state in the country.

With every election that has occurred since states have begun to implement voter ID, the evidence is overwhelming that it does not depress the turnout of voters. Indeed, it may actually increase the public's confidence that their votes will count.

That won't stop the ACLU or the League of Women Voters from filing more frivolous lawsuits against such state laws and continuing to waste taxpayer money. But ultimately they will lose, and our ability to protect the security and integrity of our elections will be preserved.

I recommend the entire article.

It looks like it's a propitious time for a full-court press on voter fraud.

If you burden these whiners with facts you’ll ruin their reason to live.

The WSJ needs to step-out of its offices and get a clue. Obama is installing an American Brown Shirt force that will be the army for ACORN. There will be NO end to the est. 9.3 million fraudulent votes that threw the election to The One in November. Conservatives insist upon dueling by the rules while liberals turn before the tenth pace and shoot the conservatives in the back.

Of course ACORN is the reason that we are in desperate need of Voter ID, and the reason why we will have difficulty getting it.

All I'm saying is that we have the facts on our side: voter ID does not suppress the vote and seems in fact to enhance it. Anyone who opposes voter ID is therefore presumptively in favor of voter fraud.

'Course I doubt there is anything that voter ID would do about Philadelphia, where they report more votes than there are adults to vote . . .
