President Obama held a "very sober meeting" about the economy with 10 of the nation's business leaders at the White House Wednesday as the House debated his proposed $825 billion economic stimulus package.
"They understand when it comes to rebuilding our economy, we don't have a moment to spare," Mr. Obama said of the chief executive officers attending the meeting. "They are looking for action from Washington, bold and swift."
Mr. Obama characterized them as being "on the frontline of people who are seeing enormous problems in the economy right now" and said the economic difficulties were a reason for Congress to "act now" on his stimulus plan.
Among the chief executives were

So he’s usually drunk. I see. Thats how the MSM would twist it.
“They are looking for action from Washington, bold and swift.”
I doubt that. The Capitalists I know in the Real World want Government OUT OF THE WAY.
Like to see a republican with the courage to say: This is NOT the worst economy since the depression, that is a scare tactic being used to get wwhatever Obama wants.
If this is the worst then Obama should be run out of office for squandering so much money at such a time.
Since when does Obamunism like capitalists and capitalism??
“They understand when it comes to rebuilding our economy, we don’t have a moment to spare,” Mr. Obama said of the chief executive officers attending the meeting. “They are looking for action from Washington, bold and swift.”
...they do huh? Yeah, they didn’t build their business on that stupid old capitalism BS. The Government gave them life ~sarc. DummyOTUS B.Hussein

They aren’t sober.
They are dunk on tax money and high on bailouts.

It would be interesting to cross-reference that list with their 2008 campaign contributions.
Mr. Obama? Nice to see them showing the same respect they showed President Bush. And I’m not being sarcastic!
I’m confident these CEO’s agreed with 0 that the $50 million ‘economic stimulus’ for the National Endowment for the Arts would help get the economy back on track.
He really means he wants to get that $825 billion economic stimulus package passed before the peons actually find out about the pork & social programs that are in it - with nothing much to help the economy at all.
It IS good for making government more powerful & gaining more votes for the RAT party & getting the Zero re-elected.
They want to get their (our) money before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. Next up on their agenda, retirement in Costa Rica.
In other words, they want Obama and the clowns in Congress to give them lots of your money.
And, they want it now!
Quote: “Like to see a republican with the courage to say: This is NOT the worst economy since the depression, that is a scare tactic being used to get wwhatever Obama wants.”
I believe Senator Sessions already has granted your wish. The only down side was that he threw Bush under the bus to do it, i.e. accusing Obama of using the same scare tactics as the Bush administration.
A “very sober meeting”? What a choice of words.
Is that what they call double speak? Like that’s gonna work.
He's looking for the best way to crash and burn the USA so that he can establish a dictatorship.
By interviewing the people who know what needs to be done, he can do the opposite, thereby furthering his own ambition and power.
I'm astounded that smart people don't realize this.
The fact is that Obama has embraced the fallacies of Fabian Socialism--the Keynesian approach to any business downturn--which destroy the resources of the affluent, while creating the illusion of problem solving. Since the destruction of assets is real, problems are only made worse in the long run.
As a stab at trying to address the fallacies being promoted, the February feature at my Conservative Web Site deals with The Function Of Money--A Medium Of Exchange. I hope that some will find it enlightening and useful.

“Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it...” Barack Obama.
Anyone here could have told these leaders what to expect with Obama but it's great that they now have heard it firsthand.
Sober, maybe. But O was all coked up after Alec and flew some nose candy for him in from the Left Coast.
There are a number of kid's games where the winning strategy is based on this sort of thinking -- see what you're opponent is trying to accomplish and just make sure that they can't achieve that goal. Secondarily, see if you can accomplish your own goal.
Zero (looking at teleprompter): “We want to spread your wealth around. It’s good for everyone.”
Kodak rep: “But there’s no more wealth to spread around.”
Zero (looking at [suddenly defective] teleprompter): “I won. I’m going to trump you on that. So whack me over the head now with a baby before I compromise.”
Obama's Economy Warning System Is Red
Severe risks. More government spending needed immediately.
Its gonna be a long four years for Mr Obaaaama.
Xerox? Google? How do they impact the economy and how will creating “green jobs” impact them? I guess people will be Googling “green jobs” to find out what they are LOL
If Obama were giving me $Billions, I'd want "bold and swift" action as well.
Since it's Americans that will be paying the $Trillions, we're not as thrilled with the whole "bold and swift" thing.
Sober meeting? No cocaine? No cocktails? Oh what a world!
Did they have a monkey to go with the tin cups????
They are dunk on tax money and high on bailouts.

Bet they did not drive Chevy's to Washington.
Glad he got BET in there. Wonder why P Diddy wasn't invited?
Maybe since the government is buying up controlling interest, or at least buying some strong say so in how they are run, in these industries, and banks.
I wonder how many of those “business leaders” actually started their businesses?
I’m guessing none.
They should be called “administrators.”
Sounding more desperate by the hour - all that pork almost within reach and the public relations alarm clock is ticking.
BINGO
“He has also been out on all of the TV primetime shows selling it.”
0 saw him in June. There’s been talk of his being the Technology ‘czar.’ I think he has acted in this capacity during the ‘transition.’ Google edits our news for language, remember. Also, it has that ‘internet drives for everyone’ concept going on. And Google has ‘worked’ with the Communist Chinese to censor its Internet.
Anyone for how his influence will peddle here in the US, hmmmm?
Pretty soon, Schmidt’s going to have to live in an Airbus or 767, sort of like Howard Hughes.

WASHINGTON -Visiting one of his favorite Chicago restaurants in November, Barack Obama was asked by an excited waitress if he wanted the restaurant’s special margarita made with the finest ingredients, straight up and shaken at the table.
Actually, a lot of these corporate elitists are less free market entrepreneurs than mercantilists who rely on Big Government favors to move their firms ahead.
Problem is that a lot of these upper-level execs in Fortune 500 corporations aren't true capitalists, but more like mercantalists who seek favors from Big Brother.
Thanks justiceseeker93.
Cool - a list of companies with which I will NOT do business.
Did you happen to see the press conference and Major Garrett on with Shep after. If not you missed the jaw-dropper of the week. Major asked why Obama continues to use the term “disaster” when discussing the economy. Gibbs response was the shocker — even to Major Garrett, he said they are doing it on purpose to push the stimulus through. Major told Shep he never in a million years expected a response like that.
Eric Schmid is who they sent out to talk up the meeting when it was over..... no shock since Soros owns Schmid’s soul.
This POTUS has balls, I’ll give him that, I heard today they are already talking another 1.1 Trillion TARP program.
