On Inauguration Day, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, in a New York Times ad ("An Invitation to a New Partnership"), told "Dear President OBAMA" that Muslims "have compelling strategic and moral reasons to cooperate and peacefully co-exist with the United States in particular, and with the West in general."
Many Muslims here and elsewhere want that partnership; but some, jihadists in the name of Islam, disagree violently. In its address to our new president, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (which has permanent status at the United Nations) made no mention of its own strategic skills that resulted, on Dec. 18, in the passage by the U.N. General Assembly of a nonbinding resolution (with strong advice to its members) that condemns "defamation of religion," especially Islam.

Perhaps we should remind the United Nations that it has chastised Christian churches for committing crimes against humanity, for opposing abortion and homosexuality.
The brazen double standard here reveals the U.N. yet again, for the devious discredited organization it is. Islam also speaks out against homosexuality. It probably speaks out against abortion.
Despite this the U.N. finds it necessary to issue a statement protecting Islam (and of course other churches) from criticism.
The U.N. is a junk bond, and I wish our government would quit investing in it.

Does the prohibition apply to all religions, or only Islam? Seems to me the primary violators of the prohibition are Muslims, condemning every religious entity but their own.

So how exactly do they enforce this? I was not aware that the UN had the power to create laws.

The west and Israel are missing a bet here. They should run with this, but in an unexpected direction.
For example, it should be resolved that Islam especially should be protected, because “it is a weak religion, whose followers fear that their number can easily be swayed to embracing far more resilient faiths.”
It could also be submitted to a vote that Islam needs special protection “because of its many violent and bitter inner divisions, each of whom seek to undermine and persecute the others.”
Likewise, “because Islam is unable to distinguish itself as a religion apart from the primitive, violent and evil paganism that existed before it and has become intertwined with the beliefs of their followers.”
And while granted, all of these resolutions would fail, perhaps the best of them might be that “Islam be preserved, so that in competition with other religions, it does not disappear altogether, but be protected from harm as any other endangered species, so as not to become extinct and forgotten.”

Islam is the religion of Satan, and its followers are his demons. Islam is pure, disgusting, vile evil, and so is the united nations. For the UN or any body to require that each religion consider each other religion equal in value demeans fundamental religious discipline. By this edict they have made themselves utterly irrelevent to religious people.
