Among Democrats, there are two views as to how to pull this off now. The popular view is the one that looks to Bush making mistakes and, perhaps, to an economic downturn that will make swing voters long for the days of Democratic prosperity under Clinton.

Great find!
The Seattle Times ^ | jan 9, 2001 | E.J. Dionne Jr.
The article is eight years old. Rush would love to send that up piglosi and dingy hairy's rear end.
controversial?
The liberals fought everything Bush tried to do, then complained about the results. Vandals.
You mean to say that the Democrats were hoping President Bush would fail? OH NO! Say it ain’t so!
buy that Freeper a beer....
Just emailed Rush. What a GREAT find who ever found it. The left is full of folly.
CHECK MATE!
I’ll be dammed!
Bump.
They are hypocrites and marxists trying to silence anyone that opposes their cult!!
Check this out Mark!
No doubt...lol.
You might want to ping the “Rush” list to this find!
I wish Drudge would put this link up next to the “Dems Launch Petition Against Rush Limbaugh...” link.
No unity back then?!? I don’t believe it!
Wow, I guess they were being “unpatriotic”.
Anybody who expects any principles out of the Democrats will be waiting a long time.
Screenshots taken and copy saved for when it disappears down the memory hole.
Good snag!!!!
Hmmmm.
WOW.that about sums it up. Who ever found this gets a keg.
You think??
Good find!
Pingaroo to the RUSH thread for this thread and other posted link.
Remember the Florida vote debacle? The dims didn’t even wait for GWB to even take office before the started their hopes for a failed Presidency...
bttt
And now that BDS is running out of steam, they’ve come up with RDS.
Can someone send this to un-funny man jon stewart also? He accused Rush of treason too.
There is the difference. The MSM is complicit.
Thanks, have to save this one
Great find.
These psychopaths actively poisoned the airwaves and newswires for eight years with their denegration of President Bush and daily declarations of their hopes that he fail.
Their mendacity knows no boundaries.
Conservative leadership needs to take center stage and throw the RINOs an occasional bone. Not the other way around. Conservatism didn't lose the last two elections. RINOism did.
I heard the first complaining from Palm Beach County before 1 pm on the day of the election.
The Left leaves nothing to chance. If it happens and it's bad for the Right then you can bet your bottom dollar it was set up by the Left.
If they spent one-tenth as much time trying to make America great as they do trying to screw the Right we would be back on top of the heap again in no time at all!
Of course they are. The MSM is nothing more than the PR branch of the dim-0 party.

DEMOCRATS THINK AHEAD TO ‘02, ‘04 ELECTIONS
Contra Costa Times (Walnut Creek, CA) - Sunday, December 17, 2000
Author: Naftali Bendavid

Despite lofty rhetoric from the party’s elected officials about the need for bipartisanship, the operatives who fight the battles at ground level are eager to take on Bush and the Republicans in the next round.
Paul Begala, a former aide to President Clinton, said Bush will make an “enormously tempting” target in 2004.
“Presidents are successful if they are feared, more than loved, more than respected,” Begala said.
“We Democrats didn’t love or respect President Reagan, but we feared him because we knew he could trounce us. And the Republicans, I know, were terrified of Clinton. They didn’t like or respect him but were scared to death of him.”
He added, “Nobody in either party fears Bush.”
This may be a way to ease the sting of Republican control of the White House, Senate and House for the first time in 48 years. But some Democrats insist they are better off with Bush in the Oval Office than they would have been with Vice President Al Gore.
Bush, the thinking goes, lost the popular vote, creating a cloud over his administration.
Democratic loyalists, upset over the outcome, could be energized for races in 2002 and 2004. And the incoming president faces an unruly, divided Congress that could make it hard to govern.
Republicans dismissed such predictions, saying Bush can overcome the challenges.
“He will be a very strong leader,” said Mark Pfeifle, spokesman for the Republican National Committee.
“He has proved in the state of Texas that he can work with Democrats. He was only the second Republican governor of Texas. He had a Democrat-dominated legislature, and he came out with significant victories and accomplishments.”
Pfeifle characterized the Democrats’ comments as partisan jabs.
“These are hired warriors, or another term might be political hacks which I consider a term of endearment; I am one who live and die for the battle,” Pfeifle said.
Since Gore’s concession speech, prominent Democrats have been quick to say they wish Bush well for the sake of the nation.
Gore himself said, “What remains of partisan rancor must now be put aside, and may God bless his stewardship of this country.”
But there is little question that some Democrats hope Bush fails .

Send it to the DemonRats in Congress who are drafting a condemnation of Rush right now.
There has been outright collusion on news stories with the DNC in the past election cycles. American Pravda.
The Democrats have to have an enemy to demonize. They studied the tactics of Goebbels and Stalin well. Every film student studies Eisenstein and Reifenstahl. Now they have their professional propagandists and are seeking to force all public opinion.
If it isn't Bush, it's Newt Gingrich, or it's Tom DeLay, or it's Frist, or it's Bush, or it's Rumsfeld, or it's Cheney, or it's Sarah Palin, or it's Joe the Plumber, or it's Rush.
The target will never be anyone leading their own party.
It was OK to wish openly for Bush to fail since he was a Republican and a white man...to wish for Obama to fail is racist.
The first thing my liberal cooworker said to me this morning was(and loud enough for the others in the area to hear), “What’s this about your friend Rush Limbaugh? I hear he hopes President Obama will fail.”
Touche!
The war is on to marginalize Rush Limbaugh.
Think about it folks. We are seeing Stalinist tactics with mob thinking in play.

Yes, we could do the same. Not just individual targets but slogans, buzz words etc.
Make more effort with our own slogans and sound bites. Long explanations, even when informative, don’t resonate with the sheeple.
For example, don’t let them push the “Fairness Doctrine” when it’s really the Progaganda Doctrine or the Indoctrination Doctrine - or hopefully something even better. The RNC needs to hire the best PR and marketing people to come up with better slogans and brief but accurate position statements.
Want to convince the fence sitters and deniers that terrorists need to be destroyed? Draw the parallels between beefing up the local police to stop gangs that prey on the innocent. Although the average American should be able to see that without hand holding, they just don’t.
Unfairness Doctrine. That way everytime they hear “fairness”, they are already hearing it as UNfairness.
Same with the way the left called it “the contract ON america”, “the gingrinch that stole christmas”...
A few years back they didn’t just stop at going after Rush. They went after BO’Reily for some phonecall tapes, Bill Bennett for gambling, Michael Savage for saying choke on a sausage (it was a cooking segment on tv), die of parasites from improperly stored meats, and “get AIDS” all to a known prank caller (who lied about being gay), I think they went after Michael Donahue for a statement they took out of context (he was quoting a book and then immediately refuted the statement he’d just read), etc. etc.
Rush learned when a partisan “security” guard tried to out him for “drugs” when he went out of the country (the viagra thing) that he would be unable to leave the US “safely” until after the 2008 election. Wonder if he’s staying put until 2012.
Stalinists lie. Always. And quite openly.
This is just another partisan smear. And the Pravda Media won’t raise this on tonight’s news. They all know about it by now.
Not that’s what I’M talkin’ about.
They should hire you!
