I was reading a copy of the Sun-Times the other week (copy I found on the train back from Chicago...no way I'm going to actually BUY that propaganda mill), where Sneed's columnist suggested the now A-list comedic actor Steve Carell would make a good Blago. I never thought of that but I'd have to agree. Give him a big goofy black toupee, bright blue contact lens, an ill-fitting suit, and he'd nail the guy. Carrell's past acting roles are perfect... he can play snarky, sneaky, cocky, incompetent, bald-faced liar, and clever schemer at all once.
I think the opening scene of the film should be Blago's election night victory rally when he was elected to Congress in November '96. With the crowd cheering and Blago booming into a mic "Tonight's vote sends a clear message to the far right-wing in this country. Your revolution is over! Common sense has prevailed" (yes, he really said that in real life). Followed it with Blago strutting on stage Elvis-style while the crowd chants "BLAH-GO! BLAH-GO! BLAH-GO!" (don't think this happened in real life, but that's what "creative license" is for), then a simple fade to black and the opening credits "BLAGO: THE MOVIE". Great intro.
Of course Hollywood will never do it. Good luck getting a film made about a crooked Dem when he's still in office, let alone after he leaves. They're too busy making another dozen movies vilifying Reagan, Nixon, and Dubya.
But an Oliver Stone type exaggerated, mocking send-up of Blago would be perfect right now. Provided I do the screenplay. ;-D

Somebody...a liar who is sleazy, slick and slimey...Clinton! But he’s too old now.
How old is ‘Chip’ from “My Three Sons”?....Stanley Livingston. Too old, almost 60.

Tougher ones:
In the Blago movie... who should play...
Patty Blagojevich?
Rob Blagojevich? (the Gov's brother)
Rahm Emanuel?
Roland Burris?
Jesse Jackson Jr.?
Judy Barr Topinka? (hard to capture her on film)
Rich Whitney? (Blago's green party opponent)
Pat Quinn?
Mike Madigan?
Lisa Madigan?
Emil Jones?
Jan Schakowsky?
Jim Ryan?
John Harris?
Ed Genson?
Mayor Daley?
David Alexrod?
Obama can just be played a voice-over actor as a smooth talking bad boy over the phone, since Obama was AWOL from Illinois during his four years "serving" the people of Illinois as U.S. Senator.
